Could he be Cena's mystery opponent... he was injured by Cena there's talk they want Cena to disappear for awhile so that he can come back and have a big pop on their merchandise and ratings he can get fake hurt by Sami Zayn and come back and feud with him later

I don't think having Zayn, a face, return to injure somebody as revenge would work well.

I would much rather they have Zayn return during the Road to WM. Have him win a number one contender to the IC title battle royal. Thus giving us Owens vs Zayn at WM 32. Start the show off with that and force everyone else to follow that.

I'm not sure that he's ready yet. If he is, it wouldn't be a bad idea, but it wouldn't be my first choice either.
To me, it goes like this:
Best case scenario: Daniel Bryan (if he's healthy, for ratings and general interest purposes)
Very nice alternatives: Samoa Joe, James Storm
Pretty good alternative: Sami Zayn
Kill it all: Big Show
I just think, at this point, every mid-card guy on the main roster is far too damaged to uphold the credibility Cena has brought to the title. It's gotta be a call-up or a big return.

Sami Zayn should return in the Royal Rumble match and eliminate Kevin Owens. They can feud into WrestleMania and go one-on-one for the Intercontinental Championship.

Cena can only drop the US Title to main event guys. Not mid-card guys.

I thought he was going to be out for another couple of months so that's why I never considered him a potential Cena US Open challenger for this Sunday. If he did debut this weekend it would be pretty awesome but again I want to see him and Owens face off at WM 32 and ideally it would be for one of the mid card titles NOT a unification match so one of them would hopefully lose it before then. I still think Zayn is going to stay on the shelf though. |
