Hello all. I have reached a serious dilemma in my figure collecting. I recently bought some detolf shelves for my warrior et. all collection and found that these aren't conducive to MOC figures. While I refuse to open my DM's, I have a bunch of Jakks and Mattel basic Warrior on their card. Should I open these up? My fear is that opening them will hurt resale value, but I do not plan on selling these figures. I have always been an avid collector or various things (read:horder) and have never sold anything, so warrior isn't going anywhere. Any opinions out there?

I'd say keep them moc for now, think about it for a while
You can always open it, can't never re-close it

If you purchased the shelves soley for your collection displaying purposes and don't plan on selling anything as you stated, OPEN!! But yes, maybe ponder the situation a moment first...

It is pretty much your decision. You shouldn't ask us for advice. At the end of the day, its your call. What do you think you should do? What are you leaning towards?

You mention resale value. If you collect for resale value, keep them moc. If you want your figures to wear shirts, open them up and display in all their glory.

If I've kept something MOC since I bought them, I will always leave them MOC. Or else they would've been opened after I bought them. I'd say keep them MOC.

A tiny bit off topic, but the last line this kid delivers is great.

I've faced the same dilemma. Most of the time, I open my figures -- I think they display so much better loose than carded -- but if it's a really rare moc figure, I'll usually try to find a loose one on eBay.

It's your collection Everyone should display how they want
I've opened most of my collection, the ones I keep MOC is simply to fit the display.
Think of what enjoyment your get from having the figure loose, if that outways the resale value. Open them up :3

If they are worth money they'll be worth money loose too. Just maybe not as much. Open them and enjoy them

Sell the MOC and buy them loose. I think it'd be sacrilege to open them, it's different with current figures, but ones unavailable shouldn't be opened now, sell them to someone who wants them MOC and buy loose ones. My opinion of course.

The elite boxes are made so you can open them without tearing them up. If you regret the choice, just put them back in the box.

Open it. Toys aren't meant to be kept in prisons.
Unless it has awesome packaging, like the TRU Rollins.

It makes no sense to me that you're worried about their resell price, but go on to say you arent going to sell them.
So if you're only collecting them for the price aspect of the toys and not wanting to sell them..... I guess it just doesn't make sense....
Just open them.

It's your collection... Think of what enjoyment your get from having the figure loose, if that outways the resale value. Open them up :3 Well said... large displays of wresting figures look so much better open IMO. I would save the MOC for the figures you are most proud to own.
