It's your collection... Think of what enjoyment your get from having the figure loose, if that outways the resale value. Open them up :3 Well said... large displays of wresting figures look so much better open IMO. I would save the MOC for the figures you are most proud to own. Pretty much what he said

I started my collection MOC and have kept my collection MOC. Then after the DM Hogan and JYD figures came out I started a separate loose collection. I had to open those 2 figures up when I saw them. Then that lead up to a little over 100 more loose legends. Once you open them you can't go back. Keep them MOC if your not sure.

Tough one, are you thinking about only opening up a few, selected items? If that's your thought process, I'd say don't. If the majority of your collection is still going to be MOC, then why risk the feeling of regret by opening only a handful. The first year or two that I began collecting, I had about 8-10 MOC figures and about 30 loose and I would display them all on floating shelves. It got to the point where I was running out of room, plus I liked the look of the loose figures more than the MOC display, so I decided to open almost all of my MOC. So my collection now is 95% loose, 5% MOC and the MOC are ones that I either A) already have as a loose figure or B) are autographed or C) plan to trade/sell as/doesn't fit into my collection which is WWF from 1988 - 1998.
In short, I'd say do all or nothing my man, but I'd lean towards nothing. Keep em MOC.

I have similar situation also. I have found good deals on MOC figures for my kids Christmas and I am tempted to buy duplicate already open. Jry still out for me on this one. I already know what their choice is! I personally only open my collection if I had duplicates because the temptation grows to strong to play with them even at my age now.

Okay, since resell value is essentially not a concern then you simply have to ask yourself why you would want to open them. To play? To get a better look at all sides of the product? To take pics for a pic fed? And if so, will you miss the look of the packaging down the road? That's ultimately your call.
