Why don't we(The indy fans/super obsessive/trying to be scholarly fans of wrestling) have more in-depth conversations about the deeper aspects of the last vestige of the territories?
Independent wrestling is an anthropological phenomenon, which offers a wide pallet of interesting discussion topics, provides insight to wrestling's evolution of performance theory, & all of the information wrestlers guarded as trade-secrets that we UberTurnbuckleNerds obsess over(or at least I do.)

...whenever I do Phil, it just goes over people's heads...it's a very self-serving attitude some wrestling fans have - they just want to know what they are comfortable with, and don't necessarily take it upon themselves to learn or look outside the WWE.

Because they don't care.
Who cares?

Because they don't care. Who cares? I do, dill weed. You care that much about what others think/care about?

You care that much about what others think/care about? Yes. I care about people who care about wrestling. I'm sorry for calling you a dill weed, but that was a dill weed thing to say.

We're adrift, Phil - nothing more, nothing less... What do you mean, buddy? You and I and the way we view wrestling is lost on the masses; meaning we are apart from them in a sense.

It might be over my head, but I always appreciate the deeper thoughts of Turnbuckle Phil.

I would love to discuss more indie wrestling topics except that:
1) It is not so easy to follow indie promotions with no TV shows in my area. I have no desire to chase down low quality video on the Internet. I watch ROH and love it, but that is because it is on a local station at regular weekly time - Saturday night at 9 pm bay-bay!
2) It is definitely possible to reach the point of over-saturation with pro wrestling. I watch Raw and ROH every week plus sometimes SmackDown and sometimes TNA and sometimes PPW (Vegas based indie that has a show on at 6 am Sunday mornings so I see it about once a month when I can't sleep). That's my viewing limit.
3) WWE made the smart move and created its own "indie" brand which has filled the gap for a lot of wrestling fans who want the most out of their $9.99 / month network fee. As a result, there is plenty of discussion about NXT if you want to get involved in that.

You and I and the way we view wrestling is lost on the masses; meaning we are apart from them in a sense. Well that seems to be true, but it doesn't have to be. Objectively our perspective makes more sense to the outsiders, so why can't casual fans get behind it? Food for thought.

I'm sorry for calling you a dill weed, but that was a dill weed thing to say. ...also, you and I have a deep appreciation of the legacy of the business...something that combines two of my loves; history and pro wrestling... Kudos to you for trying, Phil.

I love and support NJPW any way I can.
I don't count them as one though. They're much bigger than your average indy.
