He's one of my favorite wrestlers ever and more so his Loose Cannon gimmick (or maybe it wasn't a gimmick) was one of my favorite characters of all time. I was watching the Dark Knight recently and noticed how Heath Ledgers Joker look and personality reminded me a lot of Pillman during his Loose Cannon days. The hair especially and the mannerisms, the way he would wildly attack like insanity. That sick smile/laugh I was just wondering what you guys thoughts were on that, does anyone else think maybe Ledger himself or someone at Warner Bros was a Pillman fan?? j

Pillman was great, and was one of those guys who had the potential to do so many bigger and better things. He was outstanding on the mic and solid in the ring. Unfortunately, injuries really ruined most of his WWF run, and then his unexpected death happened just at the point when they were giving him a major angle as part of The Hart Foundation.

Many actors and actresses are secret wrestling fans, so there is a good chance Ledger was a Pillman fan. I wouldn't doubt it if he was.

I doubt it was purposely done.

In interviews Ledger admitted to watching Clockwork Orange a lot and modeling at least part of his Joker after the Alex character. He made no mention of Pillman and I think any comparison is coincidental, not intentional.

Like they say after the movie.
"All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental."

He is my Top 3 Favorite Pro Wrestler of all time for a reason. I wonder how he would have evolved if he didn't die in 1997.
If not a Wrestler he could have been a great Manager for sure.

Could totally see him being an agent or even on the writing team; one of the best minds for the business when it comes to talent

Man that crash Pillman was in totally wrecks my head. His career was in fact over than and there. His unwillingness to hang them up cost him his life because he must have been in INCREDIBLE pain......and of course medicated(and over medicated) to get him through.
So sad.

That's about as SPOT ON a statement as can be made, you're 100% right And when you put it like that it's a strange thought because imagine had he hung it up then and there, we'd be talking about Pillman like people talked about HBK back in 98 when he retired. Even now people still talk about "what if" with Pillman but I think because he did go to WWF and fizzle away, we weren't totally deprived of him cold turkey. But man coming off his WCW run and momentum, to just be cut off like that, that would have been stunning.
