"But, football!" - Vince McMahon, 2015.
In all seriousness, for what it's worth, the rating rounds out to a 2.2, which essentially equals the previous low set back on (I believe) October 12th. No use splitting hairs on the nitty-gritty, since it rounds out to a clean number.
Anyway, there's a bigger concern than the final rating in this week's numbers. If you look at the hourly breakdown, people still tuned in at the start of the show. The taped aspect did not deter viewers. The content did. People turned on the show, and were so disinterested in what was being presented that nearly 20% of them left by the third hour. That's miserable.

The final number is 2.23. The show averaged 3.16 million viewers for all three hours, which is lower than last year's UK RAW, which averaged 3.93 million for all three hours.
Personally, I'm happy to hear this. WWE's product is freaking terrible, and it deserves to have crap ratings it gets, until they improve the show.

They need something big; something that makes them sick to their to their stomach to do.
Put belt on someone fresh and unexpected.
Turn someone heel they don't want to (Cena, Reigns). Do something fresh and cool. Otherwise people don't care anymore. It was the same way before the attitude era and they had to do what they did to save the ratings.

Two hour Raws are the way to go. Exactly. Less pointless matches and angles please.

I have to understand why Cole is still at commentary in WWE. Because he's exactly what McMahon and Dunn want. Someone who can largely ignore the wrestling aspect of a pro-wrestling program and be an unapologetic branding machine. Michael Cole is not a wrestling commentator, and that's why they love him. He's a brand promoter, which is what WWE is all about.

The good thing about the ratings slump is that now, it's less likely they'll take a chance and put the WWE Title on Sheamus.

I'd like to point out that Christmas Eve 2012 drew a 2.2, worst since September 1997. We're very close to that. They're lucky they don't have a too close to Christmas show or that I'd say would possibly be under 2.
