As a starting customizer I want to know how I make a mattel elite wrestling belt. If you can tell me how I will be so thankful.

Most ppl find good print outs. Print plates out on high gloss photo paper. CUt and paste on to pleather strips.

I use real leather scraps I got from Michaels (I got it for like $7 - Made approximately 20 belts with it and still can make about another 10). The leather scrap gives a nice weight and feel to it. I cut out the plates from the pics and super glue them onto the leather strap. Looks good with figures.

A few years back there was a guy on eBay who sold custom belts with laminated plates. It really added to them imo.

Stopped doing them because they took forever and a day to make by hand, lol. Really simple though, I made a guide that I can't really share here b/c it gets labeled as spam. Anyhoo, you can make some basic ones by printing out the belts at walgreens or at home and sticking onto some sticky back felt or foam. Then just cut it out and attach close with velcro. You can also use the belt as a template and cut it out of the leather stuff. Then cut out the medallion portions and super glue them to the leather. Attach some velcro (staple the velcro on) and close it.

I think I recognize that name though, or something similar.

Yeah there used to be a good 10 - 15 guys selling custom belts on ebay at one point. Printouts, when properly done, are way better than the "official" belts that we get with figs.

I have 2 custom belts from ebay I used for stand in till I found a RSC Austin for a decent price, The one I have show decent details but are pretty dull they're laminated pics glued on to a small piece of foam then glued on to leather/pleather but the velcro used as the fastners just came unglued. If I can find better quality ones I'd like to get the old NWA tag belts and the old NWA US and US tag belts and the the WCW tag belts for Hall and Nash. Here's a pic of the customs with the Mattel belts

Thank you. And as far as your fasteners coming unglued, If you staple the velcro pieces into place, it helps A TON, lol! Just be sure to sharpie the staples black beforehand.
