He's British.
As a Brit myself, I can tell you...
We're all Heels. All of us. Every single one.

I loved him in NXT. The second Cena decided he wanted to win at SummerSlam was the end for him. If not then, it was Cena burying him under chairs at TLC that did him no favours. He is amazing Imo, literally wish he would main event so British fans have someone like them to cheer for (minus supporting Preston. Preston suck)

I never want Barrett as a face... from the moment he came out last year I believe, to shave Daniel Bryan's head or beard, I wanted Barrett as a member of The Authority. It seems to be the natural guard for him to portray, a semi-bodyguard kinda' guy who will never decline a fight AS LONG as he gets paid for it, so I suppose a mercenary of sorts, a Brock Lesnar type of thing, just on a much lower scale. I hope this Barrett thing with The Authority now does not put him in the role of what J&J were to Seth since WWE seem to have already made Sheamus that kind of character... I mean, taking one little chair shot to the gut and done?. No. Just no.
All in all, Barrett is a natural heel, it's what he does best, but he just needs a few tweaks here and there to define a character more than being 'King' since that idea failed and shall fail if they keep it up... call him Wade... oh, and give him some nice British totty as a valet in the European Authority *cough*BringBackLaylaCus'DatAss*cough*...

I'm just happy ass hell that he seemingly gets a push in the Authority! Even if it's just to eat a pin here and there with Sheamus and Rusev... Maybe somewhere down the road they can turn him face, but I think they missed that boat when his BadNews schtick became popular and they completely killed it....

Barrett most certainly does not need to go face. he may as well leave WWE if he were to go face. He needs to be folded into the Authority as one of "HHHs guys" IE hand picked men he has chosen to surround himself with.
Sheamus and Barrett should have been in this role ages ago

Theres some tiny (and i mean tiny) hope that his deal with Sheamus and Rusev might see him portray a more meaningful role on tv. Maybe even a push to a mid card title sometime. This time, perhaps, an IC or US title run could have some stability due to his cohorts or the Authority in general. Perhaps even a tag title run with Rusev. As far as him being a babyface........no......just no. Natural heels come off as too forced when playing good guy. And one of the things he has in his favor is his ability to be a charasmatic, and, natural heel. But this new alliance is Barretts best, and probably last, bet at being a big player. I've mentioned on here in the past, that if I were booking him, i would have loved to see him and Del Rio as a modern WWE version of Gino Hernandez and Chris Adams in World Class.

Barrett should NEVER turn face. He's such a natural heel. It would be like when they tried turning Del Rio and Miz face. Just not believable.

The fact he seems to have joined the authority makes me think he's gonna be a bigger player in the game, I loved the Bad News Barrett gimmick and I think that WWE should have capitalised on that situation Barrett didn't even need to be a face plenty of heels have had the audience join in their catch phrases and what not, so I don't see why that should have been a problem. A heel that sells merchandise. .. I cannot see a problem.
