Now..I've liked Barrett for a long time. I wasn't sure about him in the Nexus, but I thought he had a criminally underrated feud with Orton back on SmackDown! and that's when he started to win me over. I want to support the guy, but every time he gets something going, he has the rug yanked from under him. I could list it all, but I'm sure you all are aware of enough. There's a severe lack of faces right now, especially with Cesaro being injured. Now...I'm not calling for a Main Event push or anything like that, but I'd love for him to go back to telling Bad News and be a fan favorite again..you know, like he was a few months ago before they made him a King for no reason. The only problem is that he has a history with injuries..but I think he could have some really killer promos/matches with Kevin Owens. Let him have a real, definable IC run for once. A "redemption" story of sorts.
They even have this nice unused theme!
Is Barrett salvageable? I think so. I also think he's pretty underappreciated in both the ring and mic. That's just my opinion though. He's been a heel his entire WWE tenure, it's time for him to go face like the crowd wanted months ago.

I mean.. He wasn't a face then. The bad news gimmick was just really over with the fans. I don't ever see him working in a face position.

I mean.. He wasn't a face then. The bad news gimmick was just really over with the fans. I don't ever see him working in a face position. I know he wasn't. The point was that the fans wanted him to be face, and then he turned back into a definite heel on a RAW I believe. Then he became a King for no real reason. He also did an interview claiming that WWE put a stop to the Bad News thing because it was getting over with the fans. I could look for it... Here it is: "- WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett told Sky Sports this week that he stopped delivering his "I'm afraid I've got some bad news..." promos because WWE officials told him to as fans were joining in on the promos and cheering him. Barrett teased picking back up on the bad news after WrestleMania." www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/0328/591876/why-barrett-stopped-delivering-bad-news/

Maybe?
I say that basically because I haven't taken Barrett seriously for a second since he got buried in the Nexus. The Bad News stuff was fine, and probably the only other time I've ever enjoyed him. I suppose he could get a little bit of a jolt by something that is such a stark contrast to what he's been for the last five years, but I don't think I'd count on it. I don't see him ever really rising above where he's at now again.

More like it's time to terminate Barrett. I can't see it. Barrett, next to Ryback, is one of the biggest perennial disappointments on the roster. He gets injured every damn time he gets close to anything and yet despite having multiple IC title reigns an accolades like KOTR, the buy has been bland, boring and totally forgettable. He has lost to neville countless other times along with many other mid carders. Since the nexus, the bad news gimmick was the first thing the audience ever responded to but hey he got injured again. Recently he hasn't even had a clear direction in characters - is he wade? is he king? is he bad news? and people just don't care for him, well except for the UK'ers of course. I'd be totally content not seeing him or Ryback on TV ever again.

Never really cared for him, right now WWE is doing him a big favor by keeping him on the roster.

Well, I'd rather see Sheamus vs. Barrett for the WWE Title at TLC than Roman vs. Sheamus. So yeah I think now would be a perfect time to test the waters. What do you have to lose? Who cares if he fails, what else do you have right now?

It was time to turn him face over a year ago when the Bad News gimmick was massively over. Now, there's not much that can be done with Barrett to revitalize him in the eyes of the viewers. 2010, 2012 and 2014 were his best chances at ever becoming a legitimate main eventer. The ship has sailed and he'll always be a "what if" case.

It's time, oh it's time, it's VADER TIME!
Seriously, he should've turned face last year.

I'm a massive fan of Barrett and think he could be a huge top heel, but he's going nowhere. Turn him face, easier to get him over considering the low point he's at as a heel and turn him once he's on top.
Also, keep him away from the intercontinental champion. That thing is poison to him.

I like him, his In-ring work is really good.
P.s That theme song is dope.

I get the whole face/heel deal but come on, isn't the purpose of the product to entertain? I really don't get it sometimes.

I'd rather see him be a tweener. There's nothing wrong with being a heel that the fans cheer. That's basically what Austin during his WWF run. But naturally, WWE has to fix something that wasn't broken.

Barrett has been destroyed by the worst booking decisions in wrestling history and having terrible finishers. Bring back the Bad News gimmick, but play it to the crowds. Give him a better ing finisher, and stop just putting him in random matches vs random guys where he just loses.

Well. Now he's in a stable with Pimp Rusev and The Red Rooster. Too bad it's to eat the pins. Oh well...

I loved him in NXT.
The second Cena decided he wanted to win at SummerSlam was the end for him. If not then, it was Cena burying him under chairs at TLC that did him no favours.
He is amazing Imo, literally wish he would main event so British fans have someone like them to cheer for (minus supporting Preston. Preston suck)
