I use basics for cheap head swaps. Honestly, Ive probably given away 80% of the basics that I buy I take the parts I need and throw the body out lol

I only collect elites. Hate it when they make legends as basics.

I only collect elites. Hate it when they make legends as basics. Same here. I started collecting both but after time and not wanting to spend as much money and going nuts i stopped and only collect flashbacks now. Funny thing is when Jakks introduced the ab joint i hated it and refused to buy them now that's the only ones i do buy.

Haha I was the same way with the Deluxe Jakks figs. I only collect elites. Hate it when they make legends as basics. Same here. I feel like if only the Elite line existed, we would get those lesser guys in Elite form. The basic line is good though in that it helps us save money on lesser guys and gives us more opportunities to get them. Also the smartest thing they did was make both lines in the same scale, unlike Jakks.

Hideo Itami is probably never going to get an elite, so he's a good choice to buy ad a basic. why wont he get an elite? they made such a big deal about his signing. The reason why he is not in NXT is becuse he injured his arm at a parking lot

I get both. Mattel made it easy to have both basic and elite figs because they are the same size. With Jakks I only bought Basics because the elites were so much bigger and it seemed like the elites from Jakks wouldnt really stand on there own that easily. SO mattel did a great think learning from Jakk's mistakes.

Elites are great for; - athletic/agile guys like rvd, brock or eddie - accessories like dm taker - posabilty if loose collector
Basics I find are great for; - attires - some less agile guys like hhh or scsa - filling in gaps or getting a guy without much spare cash before you miss the guys figures all together - twin packs like nwo street gear or zeb colter etc - having better head scans for swaps
Both have their pros and cons per the collector
Although t-croch BLOWS! !! Jakks ra did it better than Mattel basics, but they should have baf legs, ball hip but no thigh swivel. Semi elite style. Im fine with 1 point knees for basics and 2 joint knees for elites. Thats perfectly acceptable, but the hips are a major issue. ALTHOUGH that being said, basics are for kids to play with so are rugid by design.
