I collect both basics and elites, but I always felt that without having basics, I would be bored with elites as the roster would not have guys like Carlito, Shelton Benjamine and such. Also recent additions like the outsiders just adds to the ever growing line up. And sometimes I could settle for just having a basic of guys like Sheamus and Big Show without having to ditch the extra bucks for an elite version of them. So to all you exclusive elite collectors out there I ask, how do you live without basics?

I hate basics.
I won't buy them.
I bought eg m$m for the suit,..
I might buy the basic honky tonk man. But that's it dammit.

I use basics for cheap head swaps. Honestly, Ive probably given away 80% of the basics that I buy

I feel like the T crotch is outdated and basics should have "elite" articulation for legs but no accessories. Have like 4 instead of 6-9 or 10 freakin figures a set. Elites should have cloth or appropriate accessories. Others should have multiple hands/heads. But theyre the giant corporation making $$$ and im just an idiot

I will go against the grain and say there are some awesome basic attires that ive purchased. When i first started collecting i just viewed them as the easy way out of getting one of every one. I dont play with them, they are all displayed. The elites tend to be more acurate and detailed, but theres some great basic fogs. And some of the hogher dollar fogs are basic one timers. I think they have theyre place. Not as awesome as elites, but sometimes bring the bang for the buck.

I honestly don't even notice the difference between elites and basics anymore. I don't play with them, so they look the same on display. I save myself money all the time now by passing on elites of guys like Stardust, Bo Dallas, Wade Barrett, etc because there basics do the trick.

I'm following you on Dallas and Barrett, but the Elite Stardust looks a thousand times better than the Basic. |

I absolutely despise T-Crotches, and this goes all the way back to the DC Direct line. The only basics I own that have the T-Crotch were purchased recently, and that's J&J Security and the New Day. In J&J's case, it's because I've been waiting over a year for them, and I doubt we'll get Elites. In the New Day's case, it's because they're my favorite performers on the current roster, and I like the ring attire enough to keep them, even when the Elites start hitting. Those are both rare exceptions to the rule. |

if i ever play with them the only basic with life-like articulation is khali. tho do get basics of guys that dont have elites and for head swaps.

Basics are the only reason why I can still moderately collect. Trying to build a genuine Elite collection isn't within my budget.

I will say i bought some basics when i first started like del rio, and picked up loose accessories on ebay like the scarf and the look just as good for far cheaper. |

I started buying elites only because i liked the shirts/belts/etc. Then i got the tshirt cm punk in the in punk we trust shirt. Then i got a battlepack punk. Then i got the rollins/reigns pack. Now i probably have 40 to 50. If i like the attire or if i just like the wrestler enough, i get it. Without basics i wouldnt have authority steph, lana, the bellas, the outsiders, the blue road warriors and many others.

Basics are awesome, and sometimes have a much better head sculpt as opposed to Elites. They're definitely what I would play with if I was a kid though. Elites feel weird to play with.
