Attachment DeletedSo a good friend and the major concert promoter for Louisville just posted this....can anyone else find anything? If so this sucks. STP was such and amazing band and his voice is iconic. Update: He has said he talked to one of his new bandmates who called him and told him he was found on his tour bus tonight before a gig unresponsive. It looks like it could be legit. Update 2: All over Twitter rockers are confirming this. It looks like Scott has finally lost his battle.

Billboard has it up on their site right now, but are saying it's unconfirmed, but if they're feeling the need to post it, it's likely the sad truth. Sad news, but with his history with drugs, he sadly had time against him. It's too bad, he falls into another category of brilliant entertainers who had giant demons they could never fully conquer. Between STP, Velvet Revolver and his solo work though, he left his stamp on the music world. More places are saying it's true too. Of course the sad thing is, while all of us who were fans, lost a great entertainer, he had kids, who no longer have their father.

Sadly, it's not overly shocking. Scott probably should have been dead years ago with the amount of drugs he has consumed over the years.
However.... I loved STP, Velvet Revolver, his solo stuff, the Magnificent Bastards, and any other band he had over the years. He will be missed.
Rest In Peace, Scott!

Cripes...died on a tour bus.
R.I.P
While musically not my cup of tea, there was no denying he was quite talented...'Plush' and 'Sour Girl' stuck out for different reasons...

Yes sir, it does! I will never forget when Layne died, it was just so weird. Now Scott is gone. Once Chris Cornell leaves us, that is truly the end of the early 90s grunge main stream singers.

Wow. It isn't unexpected, but it's still crazy. I'd been thinking about him recently. I had a feeling he was going to go soon. I'm not sure why but I am sure that I'm not the only one.

We are this far into the year and 2015 just won't quit. I've had personal losses this year, the loss of a few iconic figures in the wrestling business, and now Scott. I know, in context of what we've all heard over the years about his demons, this should come as no surprise. Yet somehow it still does. R.I.P. Scott.......the next i listen to "I got you" its gonna be as haunting as Scott intended for it to one day be.

Not cool. Been a fan of STP most of my life. Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart is one of the best rock songs of the 90's. I remember knowing all those lyrics back in the 5th grade...and those lyrics are hard! What a shame.
RIP

Once Chris Cornell leaves us, that is truly the end of the early 90s grunge main stream singers. Fortunately Eddie Vedder's still going strong. This sucks. I only listened to a few STP songs but I'm a fan of Velvet Revolver. RIP.

Damn, me and my friends were just last week discussing how we were surprised he wasn't dead yet. I've been into STP and VR for a while; in fact, STP is my second favorite band. Ive been watching Big Bang Baby's music video pretty much nonstop for the past few weeks. Its catchy as hell. I was going to see him in concert on the 15th. What a damn shame.
Sadly, the years and years of drug abuse caught up to him. RIP Scott, you will be missed.

This saddens me. Been a fan since STP's first album hit. I liked them so much that I've hated Pearl Jam because of a joke David Spade made on SNL about how he like STP better when they were called Pearl Jam. Never thought they sounded similar. Few years later when I was in high school, we had a free class to do what ever we want. I spent it learning the words to Vaseline because the girl beside me had the cassette in her purse. Many moons ago, I was lucky enough to have seen them in concert. They were with Godsmack & Disturbed. 3 of my favorite bands and I had the time of my life. Sang every word to every song from all 3 bands. Still say it was my favorite show. I thought Velvet Revolver was a dream come true. Two of my favorites bands merged into one. "Get Out the Door" was fantastic. I was disappointed they didn't last longer. Was just talking to my wife about a week or two ago how I had hoped Scott & STP would reunite. Sadly that will never happen.

Holy . I mean, like others have said, it's not exactly unexpected... but damn, it still sucks. Guess we'll never see any STP or VR reunions. It really saddens me to think about how many headlines like this we'll have to read regarding rock legends passing away in the next few years.
