It’s been almost two months since the last report... let’s fix that today. I met Vickie Guerrero at a “Comic Con” this morning. I put Comic Con in quotes because it was really just a small convention inside the small gym of a community center. josecalderon also planned on going to the event, so we went together. Always nice to have a tag team partner at these things, so I really appreciated his company. He picked me up at a mall and together we went to the signing. We get there at 9:50, which was ten minutes before the event was to start, so we wait in the car until then. Right before 10, we make our way into the venue, pay the $2 admission, and look around at the vendors. The venue was so small, so it only took us about 10-15 minutes to really look at everything. Once we looked at all the vendors, we went to Vickie’s table, who had been out signing since the doors opened. Vickie had a couple of people in line. josecalderon went up first and got his stuff signed. When it was my turn, Vickie greets me with a huge smile and handshake, then asks me for my name. I tell her my name and she says it’s nice to meet me. I then tell her I’m a big fan, and she thanks me for that. She then begins to sign the basic figure, but before she did, she tested the marker and asked “do you want it signed on the plastic or the cardboard?”, to which I said “the plastic, please.” As she signs, I tell her, “I’m a huge fan.. but I gotta say, you were so annoying!” She laughs and thanks me. She then begins to sign my battle pack. I continue, “my dad isn’t really a wrestling fan, but he’ll listen to it in the background when I'm watching, and when he hears your voice, he’ll say ‘oh no.. her again?!’”. She then begins to laugh and the handler does too. I then say, “but that means you’re really good at your job!” Still laughing and smiling, she replies “thank you, Alex!” She then signs my encyclopedia, also asking if I want it personalized. Once she signed my things, she reminded me to let the stuff dry because she’s met fans who have accidentally smeared the autograph. We then pose for a photo. We did a regular pose, and then she also asked if I wanted a pose where she was yelling at me, to which I said “yes, please!” and we took that photo too. After the photos, she thanks us for coming and we end the meet. Vickie was really nice and seemed to love meeting her fans. She also gave out business cards to plug her social media. This was a smooth signing and having josecalderon as a tag team partner made it even better, so a big thank you to him! Thanks for reading! Flash Funk is appearing in Toronto tomorrow, so watch out for another report tomorrow night! As an added bonus like I’ve done in the past, here’s a music-related report. I recently met a Motown legend. For any fans of the Supremes, here’s a report with an original member. Mary Wilson Autograph Signing Report (10/23/2019) I’ve mentioned several times that I really only listen to music from the 50’s and 60’s. Well, on October 23, I was able to meet an original member of one of my favourite groups: The Supremes. This original member was Mary Wilson. While Diana Ross was the lead singer for the group’s biggest hits, Mary was a founding member and stuck with the group through its various member changes until the Supremes’ ultimate disbandment. With her performing not too far from Toronto, I went to go see her, and dragged my dad to come along with me. The theatre was really small, but the acoustics were great, and so was Mary. Mary did most of the Supremes’ biggest hits, as well as some of her favourite non-Supremes songs. Mary sounded great, though it’s important to remember that these songs were written for Diana Ross’ voice. The show was a lot better than we expected. Better yet, Mary was extremely energetic and even wore similar attire to what she wore back in the 60’s. Knowing that she signs autographs after her shows, I brought along all of the Supremes records that I have (7 – not too many as I recently just started getting into vinyl). Mary ended the show with John Lennon’s “Imagine” then said she will see us in a few minutes. Once the show ended, my dad and I went to look for the line and joined it. There were about 20 people in front of us. It took about 10 minutes for Mary to come out, and once she did, she started signing and was very gracious of everyone who came to see her. When it was my turn to meet her, she sees my stack of records and asks “did you bring all of them?!” I reply “I wish I had all of them! I’m a big fan!”. She smiles and thanks me. She also seemed intrigued to see that someone so young was at her show lol. She tells me that she’ll sign a few right now and told me to come back at the end and she’ll sign the rest. She said that so as to keep the line moving, which is fair. This worked out because I wanted her to do a marker switch anyway, so I had her sign all the ones I wanted in white paint before exiting and reentering the line at the end. I ask her to make them out to Alex, and she was more than happy to. As she signs the “I Hear A Symphony” album, she even tells me that she has a grandchild with my name. The next album she signed featured the 1970’s lineup of the Supremes. When she saw it, she asked “Which one am I?” then laughs and says, “I’m in a different spot on every album!”. She then signs the live album of their performance at the Copa. She comments that she loves that album. She remembered the year by saying “I love this one. This was at the Copacabana in ’65!”. Once she signs those three, we thank each other, and she tells me to come back. I wait for the line to die down and rejoin it. The second last fan also had a stack of records. He wanted the records personalized to himself. On one of the records, she accidentally puts someone else’s name. She tried to fix it and said she’s never made a mistake like that before lol. Once it was my turn again, she remembers me by name and jokes that the fan before me will hate her for the rest of his life for messing up his name. I laugh at that. She signs the rest of my records in a blue Sharpie. As she signs, I tell her that this concert was my fifth one this year. I tell her, “this year, I saw Frankie Valli, Petula Clark..”, and before I could continue, she excitedly cuts me off and says “I love Frankie Valli! How was he?” I tell him that he was great and that seeing him this year was actually the third time I saw him. She replies, “he and I are buddies!” Then, as she signs the live Talk of the Town album, she says that she’s been looking for this particular record and says, “I like having three of each one!” I then have her sign our tickets. Though my dad doesn’t care about autographs, I had her sign my dad’s ticket personalized to him. She then asks: “where is he?”. I point to my dad who is standing off to the side taking pictures. With a smile, she nodded and asked, “did you enjoy the show”, to which my dad said he did, which she really seemed to appreciate. Mary then asks me if my dad got me into this music. I tell her that he somewhat did. (There are some commonalities with our tastes, but there are also a lot of differences). She also signs the merch I bought at her show, which was a CD and an 8x10. Once she finished signing, I ask for a photo. We take the photo and she then thanks me by name. I shake her hand, thank her again, and tell her that I really enjoyed the show. She thanks me again sincerely and tells my dad “you got a good one [son]! You did a good job, (name)!” We thank her again to end the night. Mary Wilson was not only a great performer, but a great person to meet. I could tell that she wasn’t all about the money like a lot of celebrities are. She signed all of my items for free, and when a fan told her that he was thinking of coming to the show “tomorrow night” (she’s in the area for two nights, but at two different cities/venues), she told him “it’s going to be the same show”, so as to be completely honest. Definitely a great night out! If you read this one too, thank you!

This quick one is likely going to be the last report for 2019. Flash Funk/2 Cold Scorpio was in Toronto today for Greektown Wrestling. Doors were to open at 7 and I get there at around 6:45 to see a line of about 40-50 people. About 15 minutes later, by some Christmas miracle, doors open… on time! The door guy calls for any VIP ticketholders, as well as meet and greet ticketholders. I had a meet and greet ticket, so this included me. Because of this, I was pushed to the front of the line and was let in with about a dozen other people. I walk into the venue and look for Funk’s table, which doesn’t exist. One of the staff realizes that and runs backstage to get a table and to get Funk himself. Just a few minutes later, a table with Funk is setup and the meet and greet starts. I was first in line but let other two people who were behind me go first as I had four items. When it was my turn to meet Funk, we start off with a handshake. I tell him that I’m a big fan, and he thanks me. I first have him sign the 8x10 included with my ticket, but first, I hand him my blue marker and ask, “do you mind using this one?” and he says “not at all!”. I also ask him, “can you make it out to Alex?”, which he was happy to do. However, he first asks: “can you spell that for me, Alex?”. I then tell him I need four more autographs. He asks me what I needed the autographs on, and I told him “two in the book, and two on DVDs!”. He says, “that will be $20”, which is solid. I pay the 20 and open up the book. He first signs the Flash Funk entry, and then the JOB Squad entry. As he signs, I tell him “I’m a big fan, so when I heard you were going to be here, I had to come!”. He replies, “thank you! Is this home for you?” I say, “yeah, I live like five minutes away, so this was perfect!” I then have him sign two DVD covers. The autograph on the Rise and Fall DVD is a bit hard to see in the photo, but it looks decent in person. As he signs those, I continue the conversation: “you were in Oshawa, Ontario about five years ago, and I couldn't attend that one. I’ve regretted that ever since!” He replies, “I’m glad you made it!”. When then pose for the photo (he put me in a headlock as he did with everyone). The lighting was really bad, so the handler asked me if the flash was on or if it was set to auto. I said “it’s on auto”. After the photo, he shakes my hand, and sincerely thanks me with a smile. I wish him luck in his match, which he thanks me for and says, “enjoy the show!”. I walk away from his table and check my photo. It was darker than I expected. I tried to edit the photo to fix the lighting, but it was too dark to make it look decent. Therefore, I went back to his table and ask the handler if we could redo the photo. The handler tells Funk the issue, and Funk jokes, “Aw! He’s just here for some more free sh*t!... But, because I like you, we’ll do it!”. We then retake the photo. The handler says “he [as in myself] said the flash was on!” (I didn’t say that... just saying lol). I play along and say: “I thought it was on!. This flash [pointing at Funk] is on!”. Funk then laughs and thanks me again. Thanks for reading! Funk was super friendly and genuinely appreciated anyone that came to see him. 2019 was another great year for signings; can’t wait to see what 2020 brings.

I met Scorpio earlier this year and he was great! Very talkative. If he would have worn his Flash Funk outfit I would have gotten a pic. He doesn't seem to do those photo ops. I liked that gimmick.
How many autographs do you have on the Rise and Fall dvd? I only have 4 lol. Shane Douglas, Mikey Whipwreck, Joey Styles, and 911.

Happy New Year, WF! Here’s a quick report. The first report of 2020 was supposed to be last week with Enzo Amore at Destiny Wrestling, but he couldn’t make it. However, Ron Simmons was at a toy show in Toronto today: He was slated to sign from 10am-3pm. With this long period of time, I didn’t feel the need to get to the toy show right away. I get there at around 11:45 and see that Simmons is indeed out and signing, with a few people in line. Before meeting him, I decided to walk around to see what the vendors had for sale. There was a limited wrestling presence in terms of what was for sale. Some vendors had LJNs and Hasbros, while other vendors did have some Jakks and Mattel stuff. Nothing too amazing and nothing that I haven’t seen before. I decided to not purchase anything during my first look around the vendor room. At just past 12, I decide to join Simmons’ line, which had a few people in it. While he didn’t have much of a line, people seemed to be joining his line at a steady rate. I notice that a guy two people ahead of me paid for one autograph for Simmons to sign his Encyclopedia. Simmons then proceeded to sign his other three entries in the book. I learn that Simmons would sign all four entries at the one autograph price – which was amazing as I anticipated to pay for four autographs to get my book all signed. When it was my turn to meet him, I pay the handler (aka josecalderon ) for a combo and some extras. We start off with a handshake, and he sees my encyclopedia. He comments at the fact that I had all the pages marked and said, “see! You came prepared!” He then begins to sign each entry in the book, but before he does, he asks me what marker I want him to use. I ask him to sign using my regular blue sharpie. He has no problem doing so. He first signs the APA entry. Before he does so, he asks if I want Faarooq or Ron Simmons on it. I tell him Faarooq, but as I do, he says “how about both?”. I say “sure, why not?” and he asks if I want him to inscribe ‘APA’ on it, to which I say yes. He also signs the Ministry of Darkness, Nation of Domination, and his single Ron Simmons entry in the book. Before he signed, he would ask to make sure I wanted the signature in the same marker and if I wanted anything special on them. As he signs the encyclopedia, I tell him “I’m a really big fan, so when I heard that you were going to be here, I was really excited!”. He replies, “that’s what I like to hear! I then open up a program form 2007 for him to sign. Again, he asks if I want anything other than his signature, and he suggests the Hall of Fame inscription, which I agreed with. I also joke, “how’s Ryan [ josecalderon ] doing.. is he doing a good job?” Simmons replies, “he’s doing great!” Next, I have him switch to a white paint marker to have him sign the E38 figure with. I ask him to personalize it to me and he asks me if I want to “fill it up” with the HOF and APA inscriptions. I told him that that would be great, and he does so. Really happy with how it turned out. Lastly, I have him sign the Nation of Domination two-pack. For this one, I ask if he could sign it in yellow, personalized. I also ask him to write “Nation of Domination” in blue over The Rock. He double checks with me to make sure that he correctly does what I want. I explain “I’ll probably never meet The Rock!” while josecalderon says, “what if you run into him?!” and I say, “I doubt that’ll happen!”. Simmons then signs the figure like I ask, and again, I’m happy with how this one turned out too. After that, I ask if I can go around his table to take the photo. Once the photo was taken, we shake hands again and he thanks me for coming. Simmons was a really cool guy to meet! After meeting Simmons, I have another look at the vendors and end up grabbing these figures: That’s it for today! Thanks for reading!

Here’s another quick report. Cryme Tyme was in Mississauga, ON yesterday. Like Vladimir Kozlov last year, Cryme Tyme were the special guests at Santino’s show where he showcases the talent he is training. I’ve gotten Cryme Tyme on two separate occasions before. The first time was at one event where they signed for me at separate times, meaning I got individual photo-ops. The second time was at an event that had JTG only, implying that I got JTG to sign some stuff but missing Shad. My goals for attending this event was to finally get a group photo-op, as well as get Shad to complete the autographs that only had JTG. The show was to start at 7 and I get there a half hour before. There was a decent turnout, but definitely not as much people as the Destiny shows that are held at the same venue. The show starts about 15 minutes late, which is typical for an indy show. While the wrestlers were talented, I felt that some of them had trouble getting the fans behind them as there were several instances where the crowd was silent. Overall, however, it was good enough. Anyways, intermission comes, and Santino’s students come out and take pictures with fans. However, Cryme Tyme did not. I did see Santino walk by and take a seat and talk to some fans. I thought that this would be the perfect chance to get him to sign some stuff for me again. At the Ron Simmons signing a few weeks ago, I bought a Santino figure. I brought that with me, along with some cards. Seated, I approach Santino and shake his hand. I first tell him that the first half of the show was great, which he thanked me for. I then ask if he could sign for me, which he was happy to do. I first have him sign the figure, personalized in white paint. I tell him: “I bought this figure here in Mississauga a few weeks ago at a toy show. Ron Simmons was doing a signing and after I met him, I looked around at the vendors and found this!” I then ask if he can sign some cards for me. Again, he had no problem. I also tell him: “I really enjoyed seeing your sister in the rumble this year!” He laughed and thanked me. After he signed, we took a selfie and I made my way back to my seat for the second half of the show, during which Cryme Tyme wrestled: Once the show was over, a small crowd forms around the entrance stage area. About 20 of us were hoping to meet Cryme Tyme. JTG peeks from behind the curtain but doesn’t come out. A few minutes later, one of the staff members asks us to form a line and they’ll get everything set up. Soon after, Cryme Tyme come out from the back, go to their table and start signing. When it was my turn to meet them, I ask the handler for four autographs from Shad only, and a photo with both. The handler asks for $40 and explains to them as to what I paid for. When they hear that I only want Shad, Shad laughs and jokingly pushes JTG away as if to say JTG isn’t needed. I laugh too and tell JTG, “I met you in Toronto a few years ago!” He replies, “that’s cool, man!”. I shake both of their hands and I then open up my stuff to get signed. First was an 8x10. I point out to Shad and say, “see! He’s [JTG] already on here!” Shad then signs a page of a magazine for me. He took a good look at the photo and says, “I love this clothesline!” I then have him sign two programs. After, I was able to go behind their table and take a photo with them. Once the photo was taken, JTG immediately shakes my hand and tells me: "nice to meet you." Shad does the same. I return to the front of the table to pack up my stuff. Right before I leave their table, with a smile, Shad extends his hand out again for a handshake and thanks me once more. I thank them both again and call it a night. Both were very gracious people to meet, just like my prior experiences with them. I was also able to achieve both goals, while also getting Santino on a bunch of stuff. Successful night! Thanks for reading!

Thanks for always reading my reports! Loved the report! How much did Santino charge for all those autographs?? Thanks! He doesn't charge if you catch him at his gym.

Good stuff Champ! the amount of Santino autographs you have must be in the 50's by now. The most autographs I have of a single person is either Shane Douglas or Jim Cornette. Both around 20 each. So he has more Santino autographs than I have of both of them combined lol. I’m not saying that to make fun champ and your reports are always great! Is Santino one of your favorites of all time?

He lives near me so he's really accessible. With a big collection, it is easy to find him on the merch I have. Met him tons of times over the past 9 years and he's always super approachable and willing to sign, so combine all of those meets and the autographs have accumulated. At one point, he used to recognize me and my dad lol. He'll always be one of my favourites because of how nice he's been to me.
