That’s awesome. Glad everything went smooth and easy. I hate going to signings that are unorganized

Every time I read your reports, I get a little jealous since not a lot of wrestlers come to my part of town and I have plenty of figures that would look good signed! I enjoyed your reports as always

Three signings in this report. First, Kevin Owens was signing autographs at the Real Sports Apparel store yesterday/Monday. This store is located inside the Scotiabank Arena (formerly known as the Air Canada Centre) and to attend the signing, you needed to buy something from the store. They had a section dedicated to WWE stuff for the purpose of the event and offered the typical merchandise that you’d see at a merch stand. The signing was to start at 1. I had other things to do in the morning, so I thought I wouldn’t be able to attend this signing. However, big thanks to ARUN and A-Rob who were texting me updates in regard to the line should I end up trying to make it. I ended up going and arrived around about 1:15 to see that there are still some wristbands left. I bought a program, got a wristband, and quickly found Arun and A-Rob. Great seeing you both. They were willing to let me jump in the line with them, but the line wasn’t terrible, so I was cool with going to the back. Not too many joined after me, which leads me to believe that I got one of the last wristbands. At this point, there was about 60 people in front of me. At 2, it was my turn to meet Kevin. We start off with a handshake and he asks me how I am. I also hand him a white paint marker to sign my two figures with. As he signed, I told him that we miss having him at Smash (a local indy promotion that are in some of my reports), and he says “oh, they seem to be doing well!”. Once he finished signing and before we take a picture, I realize that I forgot to ask him to personalize it. I ask him to do so, and he does without a problem (I forgot to put the post-it notes with my name on the figure). We then take a picture and thank each other. The next morning had Charlotte doing media rounds. I was having second thoughts about trying to get her because she will be at the Fan Expo convention in Toronto on Thursday, where you have to pay to meet her. I figured that Fan Expo and/or WWE night not want to her to sign autographs at the moment because of that. However, I decided to go on the basis that I had nothing to lose other than time. I get there forty minutes before her slated interview time in an attempt to get her on the way in. Only one other fan was there, and another one would arrive shortly after. 15-20 minutes later, Charlotte’s vehicle pulls up. She steps out of her car, belt in hand, and the fan that was there first asked for a photo. Charlotte says that she would get us on her way out. About a half hour more later, her interview is over and she exits the door. Without being asked again and staying true to her word, she goes straight to the three of us that were there. She then apologized and said “I was running late”, which is why she couldn’t get us on her way in. I hand her a pink paint marker and ask her to sign my elite, personalized, which she had no problem with. As she signed, I tell her “I have tickets to meet you at Fan Expo on Thursday. I’m looking forward to that”. (This is kinda a lie. I did intend to meet her there, but only preordered my Triple H and admission ticket). When I spoke as she signed, she stopped midway to make eye contact with me in order to listen to me respectfully. I thought was a really polite thing to do, especially considering her schedule. She continues signing and even puts “Best Wishes!” on the figure and tells me that she’s excited for Fan Expo because it’s her first time. I told her that it’s always a fun time at Fan Expo. When she finished signing, she gave me back the marker, and I thanked her and told her I appreciated it. I then step aside to let the other two fans get what they want. The lady Charlotte was with gladly took the other fans' phones and took pictures for them. Once they were done, I also ask for a picture. Charlotte posed with the title, making for a really good photo-op. As she started walking back to her vehicle, I yell out “see you on Thursday!”, and she replies “yes sir!”. I then left to kill some time before the Rusev signing below. This was the same location at which Kevin Owens did his signing yesterday. A-Rob was nice enough to once again text me updates regarding the line. Thanks to his help, I knew that I didn’t need to rush to the signing, and got there at around 12:45, just 15 minutes before the signing was to start. I get there and like yesterday with Kevin Owens, you would need to buy something in order to get a wristband. I wasn’t a fan of any of the shirts so I didn’t want to pay the $35 for a shirt I wouldn’t wear. I ended up just grabbing the Daniel Bryan pendant/necklace for $10. I was given the wristband with my purchase, found A-Rob and chatted with him for a bit then joined the line myself with about 60-70 people in front of me. Again, not that many people joined the line after me. The signing starts right on time at 1pm, and 50 minutes later, it is my turn to meet him. I first shake his hand and he asks me how I am. I tell him that I’m good, while handing him a white paint marker to use. I ask him to personalize the figures to me and he had no problem doing so. I then tell him: “that figure [his first elite] took me forever to find when it first came out. I had to look all over Toronto for it!”. He smiles and replies: “well, I’m glad you got it!”. I reply back: “me too!”, to which he laughs at. Once he signs, we pose for a quick photo then thank each other, and end the meet. Overall, the four meets within the past three days were incredibly smooth and better yet, all the superstars were great to meet. Definitely a fun few days! Thanks for reading! Now, off to Smackdown...

Yet another signing report... a quick one for a few big names. Triple H, The Miz, AJ Styles, and Charlotte Flair were in Toronto today for the Fan Expo convention. Fan Expo is pretty much a massive comic con. The wrestling presence at this con is usually underwhelming, therefore, when the announcement that the four superstars would be making an appearance, I was really excited. Tickets first went on sale online a few weeks ago. For about $500, you could get a combo from each superstar, admission to the convention, and front-of-the-line VIP access; the ultimate VIP package. Alternatevely, you could also order combos of individual wrestlers which would also include a VIP pass to skip the line. Because I didn’t need photo-ops with Charlotte, AJ Styles, nor The Miz, the ultimate wasn’t worth it for me. All I decided to preorder was my admission ticket, as well as the Triple H regular VIP. Come today, I arrive at around 2pm for a 4pm opening at which time you could already redeem your tickets. There is a separate section to claim your WWE preorders (the special events counter), and the admission tickets. I first go to the section where you claim your admission ticket. I do that and talk to a volunteer asking where the special events ticket counter is. She tells me that once they let us in, I can go to that counter. I thought that this didn’t make sense. My Triple H photo-op is slated for 4pm, the doors are slated to open at 4pm. There’s no way I’d be able to claim my Triple H tickets and jet over to the photo-op; it just wasn’t enough time. Therefore, I leave that area and try asking other people who had better information and let me into the special event ticket counter where I finally claim my Triple H tickets. Next, I go back to the line to get in, where it turns out that if you have a WWE ticket, they would let you in early such that you could access the special events ticket counter. Really? They couldn’t have told me that when I first asked? Anyway, they let the WWE ticket holders in before general admission. I already had mine so I just roamed around until I found A-Rob . We checked out the WWE stuff together where they had Triple H’s WrestleMania 30 gear on display. We then go to the tables at which you could buy autograph tickets. At one table, you could purchase Charlotte and Triple H. At another, The Miz and AJ Styles. I purchased an extra Triple H autograph, then made my way to the other table and purchased two AJs and one Miz. AJ and Miz were $65 each, which would equal to $195. The lady asks me for $200. I correct her and she seems puzzled and does the math again. It wasn’t that hard considering its obvious (to me anyway) that 200 doesn't divide evenly into three.. At this point we have nothing else to do, and it was already 3:15, so we wait around the photo-op booth until 4. They have us line up, and of course, things are running late. The photo-ops started about 20 minutes late. Once they started, however, they were really quick. Twenty minutes later, I enter the photo-op booth. They have me put my bags down on a shelf before going to Triple H. Once I approached Triple H, we shake hands, pose for the photo, and once it was taken, I say “thank you, sir!”. He replies, “of course, man!”. I then exit the booth and my printed photo is given to me. A-Rob and I then jet over to the Triple H autograph line, which was a total mess. We had regular Triple H VIP tickets, but so did a lot of people. They put us in a VIP line, but the line didn’t have much structure; it was horrible. I was starting to get worried that I wouldn’t be able to get all my autographs done. Triple H was slated to sign autographs starting at 5pm, but yep, they ran late. He didn’t start until almost 5:30. Once he started signing, the line was an even worse mess than it was before. How it works is that the Ultimate VIP people are supposed to meet the superstars before the regular VIP. Because the line had no structure, we were able to meet Triple H within ten minutes. I hand the handler my items to get signed, as well as my autograph tickets. He sees my post-it note that says my name on it. He takes it off and says no personalizations are allowed. I then snap a few pics which then makes them snap at me and tell me that no pictures are allowed. As he signed my stuff, I yell out “it’s nice to meet you, sir”. He replies, “you too, man”. He didn’t lift his head up or anything. It was a quick sign and go. He was signing like he was an automated machine. Not entirely his fault though. Fan Expo sold waaaaay too many tickets for the amount of time he would be appearing. Once we got done with Triple H, we move over to The Miz’s line. We join the non-VIP line because our VIP is technically only for Triple H. After 15-20 minutes, Miz leaves for his photo-op. While waiting, a volunteer sees that we have a VIP wristband, so she puts us in the separate VIP line. Our wristband only distinguishes us as being VIP; not necessarily for a particular wrestler. Therefore, there is no way for the staff to know that we only paid for a Triple H VIP. Essentially, you could be in a VIP line and skip the regular people line even if you didn’t pay to do so for a particular wrestler. This flaw in their system was a good time saver for us. At 7:10, Miz finally returns from photo-ops, and autographs are back on. 5 minutes later, it is my turn to meet Miz. I give the handler my ticket and item to get signed. I ask Miz to personalize the figure and he had no problem doing so. I tell him that I’ve been a big fan for a long time. I tell him a story that had me buying his first action figure back when I was a kid, and my friends made fun of me for doing so. He replies: “what? You gotta find new friends!”. I say: “that’s what I did!”. Miz was super friendly to everyone. I then join the AJ Styles line… as a VIP . A few minutes later, a volunteer tells me that he’s going to cut the line right in front of me such that some of the regular people can start meeting AJ Styles. I ask: “I have a VIP wristband though; why can the regular people go?” He replies: “they’ve been waiting for a while”. I say: “then what’s the point of being a VIP?”. Technically, I’m just pulling the guy’s leg because my VIP pass is for Triple H’s line only, but their system is so flawed they can't tell the difference. He explains that they only let four or five regular people go, and then VIPs resume and that it would be very quick. Kinda defeats the purpose of VIP, but it was indeed very quick and I was at AJ in five minutes. I hand the handler my tickets who then takes my stuff then gives it to former referee, Tim White. He sees my “To Alex” post-it notes, and immediately removes them, telling me that no personalizations are allowed. I thought that was weird because he was putting inscriptions like "too sweet" on other people’s figures. Anyway, Tim White then hands my figures and markers to AJ. I’m not sure why, but he did it in a manner such that my white paint marker goes flying. AJ jokes with Tim White by saying something along the lines of “is there something I did to you?”, as if to say that Tim is mad at AJ because the marker went flying. AJ starts laughing at that as he signed my figures. With him bantering with Tim, I felt like I didn’t have his full attention. In fact, I had to start the conversation by asking him how he is, to which he says he’s doing well. I take a picture of him, and Tim White tells me to stop. Ugh. Anyways, AJ signs my figures, I thank him, then leave. AJ was nice enough. The streak of extremely smooth signings has come to a sudden halt. Thankfully, I got everything I needed done; however, it was mayhem. Fan Expo was so poorly organized; no one really knew what was going on, and it was a major headache. Still though, I’m happy with the autographs and am especially happy at the fact that I met Triple H. Thanks for reading!

And this last story is why from this point forward I'm buying two per figure. I know it's a waste of money, but it should net me a personalization. One ticket for them to sign their names, and the other for them to add mine. What I've found (and I've not been doing this as long as you have) is if the handler is distracted you have a good shot at getting personalization. If not, good luck. The only reason I was able to get AJ's at AXXESS was because the handler took off the post it right in front of him and made a big deal of it. AJ wasn't happy about that, so he made it a point to personalize mine--sort of as an apology for the handler making a scene about it. Great guy Now back to you: INSANELY JEALOUS you got to meet Triple H and AJ. The autos look exceptional.

Great report! I had a similar experience at ACE Comic Con in Long Island late last year, in terms of overselling tickets. Also, it appears that when Tim White's team is involved, as at ACE, you should have an expectation to be rushed, get yelled at for taking a photo/video, and not have anything personalised. Just an fyi to everyone.

Tim White was distracted. Yes. If Tim White is distracted, you have a chance, If Tim White isn't, that is the expectation

I thought you would have written a book about that hat day not a short story the only positives were we got every autograph we wanted and we didn't have to go through the chaos alone.

I wish Triple H would do more signings, I have a bunch of figures I need for him to sign. I know he and Stephanie due the signing at SummerSlam once a year and charge $200 together, which is really high honestly. But if they wanted to do more signing for Connor's Cure, cool. Do them elsewhere other than just New York, and charge less so people who'd like to get multiple things signed can do so.

It’s been a while. There hasn’t been much activity in terms of autographs since my last report. Kenny and Mikey were in Hamilton, ON today for CPW. I’ve never been to a CPW show so I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of meet and greets, and whether or not they start on time. According to Twitter, the meet and greet would be before the show and would start at 2:30. Not expecting a big turnout because this promotion is rather small, I arrive at the venue ten minutes before 2:30, and see about 15 people there waiting for the doors to open. A few minutes after 2:30, the door opens. Fans slowly trickle into the venue because they were checking and selling tickets at the door. I needed to buy my ticket at the door as well, and apparently, the door lady is also who you pay if you wanted autographs. I first pay for my ticket, then tell her I want to do the meet and greet. She explains to me that a photo-op with both members is $15, an autographed 8x10 is the same price, and a combo is $20. I had seen this posted on their Twitter page and tell her that I need three pairs of autographs and a photo with them. I also tell her that I brought my own stuff to get signed. Puzzled, she tells me that she was told that it would be a cost per item (well, yeah…). I politely repeat that I have my own items, if it would make a difference in her thought process. She told me just to pay the $20 and I could get what I want. Solid deal. After, I then go into the room with the wrestling ring and see that Kenny and Mikey are inside the ring signing autographs and taking photos. With two people ahead of me, I join the line and within a few minutes, it is my turn to meet them. We start off with handshakes and I tell them that it is nice to meet them. Before I properly open my stuff up, the handler tells me that I can put my phone on video mode and he can record for me, which I thought was great. First, I open up the Encyclopedia to the Spirit Squad entry and have them sign that. I then open up the Superstar Yearbook magazine from 2008 and have Kenny sign it. Kenny seemed a bit puzzled when he saw I had the magazine and when I opened the magazine to his page, I had to point out his section in it. He replies: “oh? I made this?”, as in he’s surpisied to have made it into the magazine. They look at the photo used for this section: “oh that’s me and Rey!”. Next, I open up a couple of programs and have them sign them. As the signed, I was trying to explain to them that I was enthused at their return two years ago to do the program with The Miz, with the reason being that I was only nine when they had their initial run feuding with DX. They seemed more interested in the Yearbook magazine than what I had to say. Not complaining at all though, they were super friendly and even apologized at the end by saying that they thought the items I brought were cool. I was probably one of the few that brought actual merch to get signed. Lastly, I also have Kenny Dykstra sign his individual entry in the encyclopedia. Nearly forgot about that entry even though I had it marked. After they signed, I grab the phone back from the handler and switch it to photo mode for the picture. We take the picture, and once it was taken, Kenny and the handler help me organize my stuff. As this was happening, I tell them that I came from Toronto to meet them and that we would love to have them there one day. They tell me that they love coming to Canada and that it’s always a lot of fun. They also ask me where I’m sitting, and I tell them: “not sure yet! Anywhere that’s good!”. Mikey replies: “I don’t think there’s a bad seat here. We’ll see ya!”. I thank them again, but before I leave, the handler says that I’m also entitled to an 8x10 (I didn’t know that). Kenny quickly signs one and hands it to Mikey, before which I ask for a personalization. Mikey was very happy to do it and asked me where I wanted the personalization. Both guys were very friendly to meet and seemed to appreciate the fans. They also seemed very easy-going and upbeat guys. I leave the ring, and a few minutes later, I check my photo and find that it is blurry. I go back to the ring and ask if I can do a retake. The handler seemed hesitant and first asked Mikey and Kenny if it is okay to do a retake. They are more than happy to do it and once I got back into the ring, they instantly remember me. Though it isn’t my fault, I apologize and Kenny says “that’s okay! I’m blurry sometimes!”, and then we pose for the picture. Despite there being limited movement in the ring, the ring is bouncing a bit and it is seen though the handler who is taking the photo. The phone is clearly moving up and down with the bounce of the ring. Because of that, Kenny and Mikey laugh and Mikey says: “no wonder it’s blurry!” I joke back: “it’s like there’s an earthquake here!”. Thankfully, we were able to get the photo done and I thank them both again. Thanks for reading! BONUS – Gordon Ramsay Autograph Signing Report (10/5/2018) Hell’s Kitchen and Masterchef are among my favourite reality shows to watch on TV. On October 3rd, I had found out that Gordon Ramsay would be in town the following Friday for an autograph signing at the Toronto Eaton Centre in the Rogers store. Rogers is a telecommunications company in Canada and Ramsay is one of their spokespersons and appears in their commercials. His signing was during the time I had class, so I decided that I would try and meet him during his media rounds that morning. I really only wanted a picture for him, but decided that I might as well get something signed while I’m at it, therefore, on the 4th, I pass by a DVD store and find a Hell’s Kitchen DVD. Finally, on Friday the 5th, I try and go to find Ramsay. I had found out what time his interview would be at a TV show, but learned that he would be at a radio station a half hour before. I decide to try the radio station and if that failed, I would go to the TV studios. About ten minutes after he slated interview time, he comes out with what appears to be hs publicists. A few of us were there to meet him, and so we approach him. Ramsay is clearly in a rush and signs as many as he can. His publicist even says, “that’s the last one”, as Ramsay signed. Despite that, Ramsay kept signing as many as he could. He hadn’t signed my DVD yet so I speak up and say, “Mr. Ramsay, please”, and he signs. He signs a few more, then starts walking away because he is in a rush. Kudos to him for trying to accommodate us as much as he could. I had not yet gotten a photo so I decide to put my camera in selfie mode and catch up to him. We take a selfie as he walked (he even slowed his pace down and bent down to properly get into the frame), which turned out quite decent.

Awesome. Glad it was a good experience for you man!
