The only way that this isn't a total disaster is if Reigns loses the title because of Triple H, and the match against Hunter is dragged out until Mania, with no title involved. If Triple H vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship headlines Wrestlemania, I'm going to have to consider one of my occasional breaks from the product. I don't think I can stomach that. But, by going that route, I have no idea what they do with the title match. So, again, they've backed themselves into a terrible corner. AJ Styles defending the WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. John Cena's situation is the most interesting thing going on in the company right now.
Big return last week, not even on the show this week. That would be negligible for virtually anyone else on the roster, but this is John Cena, and ratings are down, and star power is low, and if ever there was a time where they truly needed him, this would be it.
I really think Cena is going to be done sooner rather than later.

The problem - and of course WWE does this - is that there is not one legitimate contender right now! Not one of the guys who have announced themselves as entrants in the Rumble have a prayer in hell. So what? Next week Cena or Lesnar or both enter? That makes things a little more interesting but doesn't really make me more interested in the title picture.

I think the problem is that they're putting all the eggs in one basket with Roman. Most of the other talent is suffering because of the E's fixation on pushing Reigns. Roman Reigns is a good worker and has a good look, that's about it IMO. He's cringeworthy on the mic, and fails to connect with the fans to level a top guy should. Well, who else is there? Cena's winding down, someone has to pick up the slack. Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, and Rusev (just to name a few) are a few acts who have been very popular over the past year or two but have never been portrayed as anywhere near the level of Roman. Instead of making a bunch of stars, they're focusing all their efforts on one. They've made it clear the top dogs are John Cena, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and (kind of) Seth Rollins... no one else is even close.

That whole Vince botch at the end there. The more I look at it, the more it looks like Vince was supposed to remain "unconscious" in the ring after knocking over Stephanie. Sheamus then brogue kicks Reigns, Vince is still down, Sheamus calls out for a referee, Scott Armstrong then runs down the ramp and in to the ring to do the pinfall count. But for some reason, Vince totally botched the whole thing. All he had to do was just stay down and be unconscious.

Only 60 pages...?
Okay...same deal as always, Raw Recap via Superstars...
- Neville and Owens, decent TV match. Ambrose and Owens is not intriguing me as it should for some reason.
- New Day (before being interrupted by Jericho) fell quite flat I thought...not their usual seamless selves.
- Chris Jericho channeling his debut in '99. I feel like I'm in Bizarro World - a world where this is apparently entertaining. To each their own I guess.
- Man...what a laugh riot that main event was...and seeing Reigns compete in what is essentially going to be retread of the '92 Rumble will be interesting indeed. Or maybe not, who knows.
