...awesome. I'm sitting here going through Raw 2000 on the Network, and remembering just how quickly the product started to blow. But, all of a sudden, Test of all ing people does the miraculous, and makes me laugh out loud. I can't even remember who he's wrestling, but he delivered one of the hardest big boots to the face I have ever seen (it HAD to be an accident). Then proceeds to motion as if he kicked their head off into the distance, for a successful field goal. Then proceeds to do it again the next week to Crash. If this guy would've showed this much personality at ANY other period of time, he probably would've been successful. If someone can find a video of it, that'd be awesome.

I remember he pretty much murdered Christian with a big boot on a Smackdown taping in 2001. It was around the time that Val Venis's mom died I believe, so Edge was with Val at the funeral, so Christian vs. Test for the European Title took place. The big boot he gave Christian was so hard and intense I thought it ended his career.

Test was the man. A ton of charisma, great look, great in the ring.

Test was at his peak in 1999 and I actually wanted him to take the belt of HHH aswell.
However I always felt that he never recovered from T & A. He was on such a role and then he was thrown into that dumb tag team which served no purpose apart from Trish flaunting her body.

His heel turn from WWF to the Alliance wasn't beneficial either. Sure, he got the IC Title, Tag Title and WCW Tag Title out of it, but he was a pretty popular face before turning heel there.
I heard that Triple H didn't wanna push Test because apparently Test was dating Stephanie for a bit during that story line. The only time Test won any gold really was during Triple H's absence when he was out with the torn quad. Once Triple H came back, Test was jobbed out again.

Kevin Nash took Andrew's death super hard. To Kev, Andrew was like a little brother. Probably because Test was a lot like Nash in his ring moves. But it did suck when he died. But he was so roided up in his last WWE run in ECW and his TNA run he was even bigger. He had a hard time just running to the ring.

Test could've been so much bigger than he was. Back in late-1999 the guy was so over that I really thought he was ready for a spot in the main event scene, and it seemed like that's where they were heading. But then once Triple H married Stephanie, they just relegated Test to getting beat down by D-X every week until his popularity completely bottomed out. I never understood it. They spent so much time building him up by having him go through the Mean Street Posse, Shane, Vince, etc. to be able to date/marry Stephanie, and then ultimately there was no payoff to it. He should've had a PPV match against Triple H or at least have been in Vince's corner at Armageddon or something. It just made no sense to drop him the way they did.
Test was one of those guys who, I thought, always was just way more genuine as a face than as a heel. He had the look of a heel for sure, but his personality (or lack-thereof) just made him a natural face. I was a big Test fan back in 1999/2000.

He was okay. My brother met him once and said he was a massive dick Was that during his last WWE run? Because he didn't look particularly happy on ECW, though that could be attributed to his heel character at that time. I never got to meet Test/Andrew Martin, but I can say that I've had the experience of hearing him leave a message on my home answering machine. This was back in the early 2000s when Test and Stacy Keibler were dating. She and her family lived here in Baltimore and they would come to my dad's tax office to have their returns filed by him personally. Eventually, Stacy recommended him to Test and so for a brief time my dad was both Stacy Keibler and Andrew Martin's accountant. When my dad told Test that I was a wrestling fan, he sent along a signed 8x10 and a Raw brand t-shirt which I still have to this day. Here are a few pics of the shirt he sent me: I've also got a signed 8x10 of Stacy from her days as Miss Hancock in WCW as well as a signed wrestling magazine with her picture on the front cover. However, those items pale in comparison to the memory I have of leaving middle school early to go to my dad's office to meet Stacy during her tax appointment lol. She was dressed down for the occasion, but I remember thinking she was gorgeous even without makeup. I believe this was in 2001 before she ever referred my dad to Test. Oh, and the message that Andrew Martin left was something tax related for my father, but I couldn't believe at the time that Test was calling my house! lol My dad says the one thing he remembers most about him, and I don't think he ever got to meet him in person either, is that he wanted to open his own strip club in Vegas when he retired from the wrestling business. He was always good to my family, so I can't say anything bad about him. I just think it's a shame he never got the chance to live out the life he had planned for himself.

That's an awesome story! Even cooler that it was in Baltimore. I always forget Stacy was from here. Yeah, I got in touch with my dad a little while ago and he informed me that it was Tennessee, not Vegas, where Test had hoped to retire and open his own strip club. I must have confused his post-wrestling plans with those of Charles Wright/The Godfather. No state tax in Tennessee must have been a big draw for him, but he also owned 434 acres of land down there. My dad says he never knew what became of the land. My dad reminded me that the phone message Test left on our answering machine was about a custom candy apple red Corvette he was having built over a period of four months and he wanted to know if he could write it off lol. It was supposed to cost around $80,000 and he told my dad that he planned on driving it everywhere, including shows. It was Stacy's parents who came to him first after being recommended by their next door neighbor. They still come to him nearly a decade and a half later. Stacy and Test moved on to another accountant back then because my dad told them upfront that he wasn't as familiar with international tax law and that was something they needed. The greatest travesty of all was not them leaving, it was that Stacy was this close to recommending my dad to Trish Stratus and possibly Torrie Wilson before plans changed. My dad says all three were living together to save money in those days, and good lord I don't even want to imagine the possibilities of my pre-teen self getting to meet Trish.

I'm a big Test fan.
I love him. I think he was sorely underrated and had massive untapped potential.

I liked Test, but he was never going to be a legit main event player with the name Test.
