Fastlane is in Cleveland and Ambrose is in the main event.
The last pay per view in Cleveland, Ambrose was in the main event against Bray Wyatt.
Cleveland loves Ambrose.

The dream match happened. Never thought when I was doing text feds in 2003/2004 and was booking this as one of my main feuds, that I'd ever get to see it in real life.

That Rock segment sucked. And maybe I'm old but New Day is more stupid and annoying than entertaining. rock comes out and does the same crap every time now. Look at my goose bumps, I get to say what I want . Wonder if Vince went ape crap when rock had that kid say he was hulk hogan...those dudes were already moved from the hard camera seats. They seem like they're cool guys in real life, but I find they're act annoying too so that's at least two of us in the world that do.....
I wish they went back to the gorilla position again and had a camera on Vince's face when The Rock did that.

I would have loved to have seen this match in their prime, but last night was a total disappointment. They were confused the whole match and Jericho seriously needs to just retire. He is completely out of shape and can't keep up. Disappointing debut match for Styles in my opinion

I firmly believe that television ruins the product, and place the blame on Cole, JBL and Saxton. I went last night to the show, had seats on the aisle in the section where Roman Reigns came out (even got a fist bump from him). Here's what I realized.
1) Roman may be another 5 moves of doom wrestler who's meh on the mic, but the guy brings energy and has in match charisma that doesn't translate well on TV (Maybe it's how the announcers try to get him over?). But in person...wow. Just wow. The dude won me over, and I was heavily against him going in.
2) Everything about the event was fun and exciting. When I didn't have akeyboard in front of me to check this discussion board out, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the product. It was exciting, and kept me on my toes. The AJ/Jericho match was the first match I've seen where I was genuinely into it, and concerned that AJ would lose and tap. It made me feel like a kid again.
3) New Day is awesome
4) The Rock's entrance is truly a spectacle. He doesn't need pyro or anything flashy.
As stated above, I found myself enjoying the entire thing. I think most of my distaste in the product stems from listening to nitwits like Cole and JBL calling matches and describing segments. Without their voices, the matches were more remarkable, and the segments were actually entertaining.

But in person...wow. Just wow. The dude won me over, and I was heavily against him going in. Different strokes, obviously, but I saw Reigns three times over the course of two months back in the fall. Two house shows, and TLC. He was, to me, just as uninteresting in person as he is on TV. He got a solid reaction from the crowd at both house shows I was at (mostly because he came through the crowd), but he just completely lacked anything resembling the intangibles of a top star. I left all three just as baffled as I am when I watch Raw.

Went to Raw last night. Thought everything was awesome besides the last match. The show is just a lot to sit through live and there is no commentary to fill in slow times. We got there at like 7:15, matches started around 7:35ish, and it wasn't over until 11:15. So 4 hours all in, plus an hour of traffic both ways. By the time we got to that tag match, I was ready to go home. I contemplated leaving to beat the rush out but I would have been disappointed had we left and something actually happened. As soon as the match didn't end quickly I assumed they were just going to announce Dean vs Roman. Didn't expect a triple threat but that's because I was expecting Ambrose vs Reigns or Reigns vs Brock. That is what is. We all know where it's going. - Thought Triple H's religion promo was off the charts - I love Owens vs Ziggler, because I like those two guys and they have great chemistry, but there wasn't any motivation to care who won. I'm also not sure where Owens is left at the moment. Maybe he beats Kalisto and we get Owens vs Styles for the US Title at Mania. Which would be fantastic. I'm also not counting out that we could still get Owens vs Zayn at Mania but with no Zayn tonight, it might be telling of him not coming up right now. - The only reason I went to Raw last night was because Styles showed up in the Rumble and I wanted to see him in WWE. To get Styles vs Jericho, well, that was something I'm grateful I've now seen. I would have preferred he hit the Styles Clash, but I know they did this with Itami and I know why they're doing it. AJ is still going to need some time to get acclimated but last night was everything I could have ever hoped for out of his first match on Raw. I really could have gone, seen that match and left and been totally happy. I love his music and was glad to see he got pyro. I wouldn't be against them using the shower pyro for him like he had in TNA. - Bo Rida was amazing. - R-Truth and Goldust was also amazing. - Becky's entrance was awesome. They went crazy with the steam. I was totally fine with getting the Charlotte run-in. I've seen full blown Sasha vs Becky close down an NXT house show, so I kind of preferred getting story development here. Interested to see what happens though because my guess is we're getting our triple threat at Fastlane now. I just hope all 3 get in that Mania match. - I thought the Rock was fantastic. The building went absolutely nuts for him. I was nearly crying at New Day. This is what Rock does now. He shows up, does his schtick and gets the people cheering. I have no problem with it. I've seen it at least 3 or 4 times now since he's been back and kind of does this deal any time WWE is in Miami. I just think the guy oozes entertainment and what New Day does works incredibly well off of what Rock does. I was happy to see it. - Not sure how much you could tell what was going on, but the guy dressed as Macho Man at ringside was probably the 3rd most over guy of the night. The crowd got super hot for him during the Bray Wyatt match. Bray yelled something at him but it pretty much went ignored. The crowd cheered more, the guy postured more, security came over, the crowd booed at security, the Macho guy postured, and that's how it went. After the match, security walked the four guys out and everyone booed and started the Macho Man chant again. About 5 minutes later, they brought them all back and moved them to the other side in front of the hard camera, and the crowd went nuts haha. That's where they were moved when the Rock went over to all of them. I mean it was funny, but I do feel the guy was upstaging the show. That being said, the crowd was encouraging it. It was largely harmless I guess. - The live crowd pretty much hated Miz vs Kalisto. A "this is boring" chant got pretty loud during it. The diving corkscrew forearm, or whatever that thing he does is called, got a nice pop though. - The kids and women went back-and-fourth with the men during the main event. Felt like a Cena match. Legit "Lets go Roman," "Roman Sucks" chants. Felt like the ending to a Smackdown to me. I won't even get into the logic of giving Reigns another shot at the title. That was incredibly lazy and it happened within the confines of the same show. Good show overall though. No complaints. I got what I wanted out of it and went home happy, albeit tired too.

I didn't think I liked Styles' music at the Rumble, but I absolutely loved it last night. The timed entrance makes it.

I can't remember the last time I have bought into a submission the way I did last night. The crowd exploded when AJ got to the ropes. Really cool.

The whole corporate Rock, corporate Mankind, Daniel Bryan, face of the company has a real basis in reality. You need someone that is marketable on all platforms. Reigns seems to be that guy. He gets decent reactions. He's good looking. He's not really that uncomfortable on the microphone. So, he's John Cena lite. Unforuantely, WWE dug themselves a hole by relying on Cena for too long. They had to rush to elevate someone. If they let Reigns grow organically, he'd be the top star. But they don't have time for that anymore. They have to rush it. It hurts him now, but he'll be loved eventually.

Man, is there anything more pathetic than Big Show as a face? Dude turned face LAST WEEK and they already have him crying this week. WTF is it with crying face Big Show? He's either a cranky heel Giant or a big sobbing pathetic face?
I respect Big Show for all his years, but I think it's just about time to pack it up and head home.

^^^^ I agree with this. Roman could have grown into this role as a bad a** type character. I see him as a Diesel-esque kind of gimmick. Look how over he was as a member of the Shield. But he had to be shoved down our throats to be set up as "the next guy" and it turned on him.

I need less Owens/Ziggler matches. They have wrestled tons of times and it never matters. Ziggler is just so BEYOND hard to get into anymore.

He's literally done the same thing over and over since he became Ziggler. Changing tights and wearing 80s themed gear is not a gimmick.

Interesting to note, WWE sent out a survey asking how people felt about the Rumble, and Raw last night. A couple of the last questions deal exclusively with AJ Styles. They're very much trying to gauge how hot of a commodity they have on their hands.
They also gave a spot to share opinions, as usual, and I made it clear that there's nothing they can do to make me care about H/Roman. I know they don't care, but it's nice to type it and know it's going directly to them.

Tag matches with Ambrose against the League of Nations just bores the sh*t out of me. And considering HHH is not going to get physical until after Fast Lane, that is what we are going to see each week with Reigns. The story is so lame and obvious. They cant twist this to make it appealing.

Roman Reigns is so very clearly not working that it's gotten to the point where I'm starting to simply not care, and I think a lot of people feel the same way. I can only put so much energy into disliking a character and disagreeing with the direction they're going in before it all becomes white noise. Roman Reigns has crossed that threshold with me. He is white noise. The thing that bothers me most is the insistence on pairing him up with, or stealing the rub from other guys who are more over than he is. Dean Ambrose has consistently been used as the pawn to coerce the fans into cheering for Reigns. How hilariously stubborn and tone deaf is that? They have a guy who is better than Roman Reigns in nearly every department, who is the undisputed number one full time babyface in the company right now, and they're not oblivious to it. They know how he over he is, because they use them him to curtail Roman's boos. They used him to ensure that the audience didn't completely turn on the Royal Rumble match. They split them off for a little bit, and Roman started to falter again, so, look who is right back at his side. Dean Ambrose. They have somehow managed to make the John Cena saga seem like an underdog story. And we're way past the point of "patiently watching it play out." It's been playing out for over a year, and it's in the same spot it was last year. They had to pull the plug because it wasn't working at Mania 31, and now, a year later, it's no better. Except this time, they're not going to pull the plug, and WWE is going to be miserably embarrassed as the hostile Wrestlemania audience completely rejects and ruins their "big money" match.

I constantly repeat that his character makes no sense. Just look at the Rumble. What top babyface has ever been taken out of a match and "on his own power" walks to the back to catch a breather. The Rock was chokeslammed through a table in Royal Rumble 01, he stayed on the outside and came back in. Did they think the crowd would cheer Reigns for coming back out, after 20 minutes of being in the back? Something as stupid as that makes me hate the direction of Reigns. I thought Ambrose/Owens was great stuff and put on a great match on Sunday but come Monday, I DVR'd past the main event because I couldnt watch it, which is a shame because I couldnt even watch Ambrose. You hit the nail on the head with pulling every string possible to not get Reigns completely booed out the building. Put him with more over superstars, have Stephanie and Vince get so much heat only to be fuel for a Reigns promo/segment so he gets a reaction. A non stubborn promoter would be smart enough to realize if he isnt getting over on his own, then its just not working. The entire program is about Roman Reigns and so many guys are pulled back so they can have enough time for Monday Night Roman its pathetic.

I was just about to share this in the Rumble thread, but I'll put it here since it's super pertinent to point you just made about Roman's booking/performance at the Rumble. Wade Keller, whom I believe is spot on with his analysis most of the time, had the following to say about the way Roman was handled in the Rumble match: I don't think the embarrassing nature with which they go about Roman each week can be put more succinctly than that. It's comical.
