His lower merch sales are obviously mainly due to the fact his been out for a number of months recently. I'm sure his merch sales will kickout at 2 when he returns.

That was so awkwardly written that I'll put no stock in it.
If this is true, though, this is WWE's fault for not building stars credibly from top to bottom.

"There doesn’t really seem to be anyone on the roster that can fill the void."
Bull. Crap.
The only reason there isn't anybody that can fill the void is because of WWE's own stupidity.
Put Ambrose in Reigns' spot, with competent, non-Superman booking, and he could EASILY be the guy to fill the void. Hell, his stuff was flying off the shelves in 2014, before they completely killed his momentum.

Make Seth face when he returns and boom! Everyone loves Rollins.

Sorry, where's that from, @ziggyfigs?
Either way, it's one of those articles to take either here or there.

I guess that explains why I'm always getting emails about sales on WWE Shop.

He just doesn't have what it takes to be 'the guy'. The face of the company NEEDS to be able to cut a good promo consistently, which he still hasn't shown he can do. He can be a guy, sure - but as a monster heel.

The only time he seems comfortable is with Ambrose around. He may have improved from cringeworthy to around average. But look at the promo ability of the faces of the company before Reigns: Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena. I can see Ambrose fitting in there. I can even see Rollins fitting in there. Reigns would be a very large stretch. He needs to be the silent asskicker, but generally, a silent asskicker can't be the Cena. They want him to be something he simply can't be.

Ambrose. The end. ing dumbass company. I still remember the melt down when his 50$ hoodie sold more than anything Cena related. But of course, WWE doesn't wanna push that because he isn't 300lbs of muscle.

If Ambrose was in Reigns's spot WM wouldn't be in the crisis it's in.
As for Cena well people don't buy merchandise of guys who aren't around.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think he HAS gotten better. I don't hate him like I once did. Well, I never hated him...but I saw Cena 2.0 from a mile away and went sour.

I'll agree that he has improved over the last year, but just not to the point where he needs to be to deserve what they're giving him. I don't even hate him anymore. I'm completely apathetic towards him. He's just... there. It's the completely stupid booking, and near-outright contempt that they have for the fanbase for not caring about Reigns that pisses me off.

Oh WWE is nervous now? Oh well. Good for 'em. That's what they deserve for not realizing the ing goldmine that they have in Ambrose and even Rollins. I feel no sympathy whatsoever.

Someone that parents wouldn't mind their kids to look u to. Stone Cold sold huge merch, sure. But it was a different time, a different product. One that was geared towards teenagers and adults. The current product is still geared towards children, or families. So while guys like Ambrose are popular, he's rough around the edges, and crazy. He's never going to tap into the child market in the same way Cena does, and I honestly don't think Roman will either. The kind of crowd that Ambrose, or a Ziggler, or a Kevin Owens appeals to aren't as willing to spend their money on the merchandise and buy tickets to see them compete as Cena's are. It's as plain as day, otherwise the numbers would be different. Cena has been out of the main event scene now for a good 2 years, he's still shifting more merch than anyone else. Ambrose is Deadpool, Cena is Captain America.
