Glad to see someone whose not afraid to defend pro wrestling. Pretty much what I've always said. If it's so fake then why don't all the people who knock it get in the ring and try doing what they do. Tell me how you're feeling after a week or hell, even a day of training. Do you think that if somebody trains at being a wrestler for a week, they will then magically think that pro wrestling matches are real fights? Well, that sh*t went smooth over your head

Do you think that if somebody trains at being a wrestler for a week, they will then magically think that pro wrestling matches are real fights? Well um no, I don't expect them to 'magically' think the result of a match is not predetermined or that anyone would say 'hey the Boogeyman is a real monster' or that Bray Wyatt is a real evil cult leader'.....I would expect them to feel the soreness and intensity of training to be a pro-wrestler and understand that no these guys aren't just pantomiming moves up there and not feeling a thing-or that you could learn this fake crap in five minutes like leaning to use a toaster. I'd expect them to have at least an ounce of respect for the business. So your plan is aimed at people who say "wrestling can be learned in five minutes" rather than trying to correct people who think wrestling is pre-determined?

Look, I know your little gimmick is to be a condescending prick, but you completely missed what the guy you originally quoted was saying. I would explain it to you, but I'll refrain since you already know everything.

you already know everything. Compared to yourself, yes. But the reality of the situation is that wrestling is fake. If a non-fan criticises wrestling solely for being fake, they're an idiot. It's also idiotic to try to "prove" that it isn't fake when it is. So what that wrestling is fake. So is Game of Thrones. So is Star Wars. So is... Well, almost every other movie and TV show ever made. "OMG how can you like something that is a work of fiction" is a ridiculous criticism for someone to attack wrestling (or anything) with, and responding to it with "yeah well learn a flip bump and a hammerlock reversal, pal" is just as bad. What would it achieve? It's like trying to convince someone Breaking Bad is real life because of how many hours a day the crew worked.

And let me ask you something, if you tell someone you're a Star Wars fan or a Breaking Bad fan or a Game of thrones fan, how many people reply with you watch that fake crap? You know it's all fake right? Why do you watch that fake crap? they're all just actors'.....The general public almost always try to make people almost ashamed that they watch pro-wrestling. It's like a dirty word. But we have Access Hollywood, E!, Entertainment Tonight Access Hollywood, The Golden Globes, The Oscars, The Emmys etc. all designed to kiss the behinds of every Hollywood A-lister. They're talented is almost always revered and given standing ovations with very few people ever saying what they're doing is stupid because they're acting or it doesn't take any talent or skill. That's just how it always will be, I get that. but bottom line, I'm sick and tired of hearing the same stupid thing almost every time you mention you like pro-wrestling or talk at all about pro-wrestling. If people feel that way, well damn fine feel like that. But hell, get in there and do it then already if it's so much of nothing. That's my point and that's the point Mike Tyson was making in the original link and that's why I responded agreeing with his statement. Are there going to be people that shrug it off and pretend like it's still nothing and lie? Sure. But are you going to tell me if someone gets stretched, runs the ropes or breaks a rib, leg, pull muscles etc. that they're still going to talk about the pain or the skill not being real in the slightest? I'm sorry if you thought that I meant to say that I want someone to believe that Sheamus really hates Roman Reigns but bottom line people would come out of a ring with a new found respect for the skill it takes to perform as a pro wrestler and if they don't at all they're most likely lying to everyone and themselves.

We still enjoy watching guys in their underwear pretending to fight. Nobody is going to give us the authority or funding to send non-fans on a training course about wrestling, so it's a bit pointless for us to think that's a solution to someone making fun of the show.

Yes of course nothing will change our love or passion or hobby, it will always still be there for us. However, if I insulted a movie or TV show or acting, writing producing in general and said any hack off the street could do this, then tried it myself, I'd own up to my stupid statement and agree that I was wrong-if not to anyone else, deep down inside to myself at least...... I would most likely apologize and at least admit that it takes talent and skill. If you told me politely that wrestling isn't your thing then what the hell do I care? To each they're own. And hell, even if someone is nasty, arrogant or snarky about it, we should still live and let live in the end. It's all opinion..... But deep in my gut I do wanna tell that to people who just insult it. I don't have any week long, one day or five minute plan of course......It's simple: get in the ring if you'd like to. If there's nothing to it and if you just don't want to then fine. If the hits and the falls didn't feel real to you at all in the least then fine more power to you.

Josh Barnett said something similar, Pro Wrestling is strong. Josh Barnett is a G. Saw him play Magic the Gathering on Wil Wheatons youtube channel a year or two ago. I didn't know people still played Magic the Gathering

Honestly, I don't get the comparisons to movies. Actors have stunt doubles. There is no real contact in action movies. Wrestling is getting slammed on the ground. It's taking a bump off a 20 foot ladder. It's getting smashed in the skull with a chair. It's all a work, but what these people put their bodies through is a shoot. Professional wrestling is a sport, and sports aren't 'fake'

I looked up the definition of "sport" and "fake". By definition pro wrestling is a sport, but by definition it is also somewhat fake. The conclusion being pro wrestling is a "fake sport". Who knew???

Professional wrestling is a sport, and sports aren't 'fake' Yeah, exactly. They are two different worlds. I never wanted to bring Hollywood into the whole argument but the guy picking apart what I said thought that I had some training course ready that would make people believe that feuds and a three count were real things. I wasn't referring to people who simply aren't into pro-wrestling or people that understand that it's scripted entertainment. I'm sorry If I worded it in a way that got him thinking that. I was simply just referring to the jerkwads that snicker at wrestling, insult it and blow it off as if the athletes that do that don't feel any sort of pain or suffer injuries. What I meant was if that's how people feel and if they want to make statements like that, just try to do what they do in the ring. I'd at least expect them to come out of it realizing just how much skill and talent it takes and the danger involved.

Pro Wrestling - Real The outcome of matches - Predetermined If pro wrestling was fake then Daniel Bryan wouldn't be announcing his retirement tonight.

Of course pro wrestling is real. It's definitely not fake. But its scripted and we, or most of us already know that.
