What do you think of this? I think Mike explains the "realness" of wrestling quite well actually, and it's good to hear it coming from a former world class athlete, and perhaps the greatest "real" fighter ever.

In a world of Meltzer Drivers and #SocialOutcasts, it's actually refreshing for me when anybody speaks about WWE as a sport. We all know the secrets, but it's nice to remember that Wrestling is the oldest form of Sport-Entertainment in the world, there was a time where people were easier to fool/wanted to believe.
Then the Internet happened. But still, it's nice to hear a high profile fan speak this way of wrestling.

Glad to see someone whose not afraid to defend pro wrestling. Pretty much what I've always said. If it's so fake then why don't all the people who knock it get in the ring and try doing what they do. Tell me how you're feeling after a week or hell, even a day of training.

I love Tyson and he said all the right things here. I still stand by my belief that Tyson saved the WWF over WCW.

For a man who has been punched in the head often, he makes a lot of sense here.

You guys might laugh at me but I think Tyson would be a good fit for WWE creative. He's a fan and respects what they do. He's a fairly intelligent guy given what he's been through in his life

Kind of reminds me of the interview Khali did a few months back that was posted here.
Khali's a former in ring talent though so his perspective could be imagined as bias, but to hear something similar from someone like Mike Tyson? It's, as someone else put it, refreshing.

I watched Russos timeline 1998 and he said McMahon wantd to manage Tysons boxing career when his ban was lifted. That if people couldnt see him on boxing PPV they would pay to see him on a wrestling one....and they did.

Josh Barnett said something similar, Pro Wrestling is strong.

Josh Barnett said something similar, Pro Wrestling is strong. Josh Barnett is a G. Saw him play Magic the Gathering on Wil Wheatons youtube channel a year or two ago.

Well um no, I don't expect them to 'magically' think the result of a match is not predetermined or that anyone would say 'hey the Boogeyman is a real monster' or that Bray Wyatt is a real evil cult leader'.....I would expect them to feel the soreness and intensity of training to be a pro-wrestler and understand that no these guys aren't just pantomiming moves up there and not feeling a thing-or that you could learn this fake crap in five minutes like leaning to use a toaster. I'd expect them to have at least an ounce of respect for the business.

Wrestling is fake in that there are no winners & losers. Everything is predetermined and, at least now, winning championships does not make you "the best". However I havent heard anyone say "Oh wrestling is fake" as in the ring is padded or they use fake weapons or whatever in like 20 years. Wrestling is theater. If you hit someone with a right cross, they're gonna go down. That doesnt happen in wrestling though. Sure some guys actually make contact when they hit but its never a closed fist. Most just gently graze someone or in The Rocks case, he slaps the crapout of you. It is what it is. Its no different then watching NCIS, Law & Order or any other fictional TV show. Its just a bunch of characters playing parts. Enjoy it or turn it off. Simple as that.
