Even though this is all an attempt to give Roman a rub of Dean's popularity (again), it's still entertaining to watch it all unfold. It also exposes, inadvertently, of course, how much more natural of a choice Dean Ambrose is over Roman Reigns. I suspect they're booking Roman as the odd man out so it comes as some sort of "surprise" when he wins at Fast Lane, which is stupid, but I'd expect nothing else. Lesnar/Ambrose at Mania makes a whole lot more sense at this point than Lesnar/Wyatt, though. That, to me, is kind of the most interesting part about this whole match/feud. Ambrose is going full Pillman right now, essentially saying I'm not really worried about the title, or anything else for that matter, I just want to stick my foot in that guy's ass. Which is definitely a different approach, but, in theory, should kind of hurt Ambrose from a character standpoint for not really concerning himself with the title. We all know why that's happening though. I'm not sure where that leaves Bray Wyatt though for Mania. He's kind of not doing anything right now and the Wyatts are just running people over. I guess all signs point to Taker vs Bray II with Strowman on the outside being the difference this time around. Maybe, I don't know. I think Ambrose needs to drop the IC title so that someone else can have it heading into Mania. We really shouldn't be going 2 full months with absolutely no attention on the title. If Ambrose faces Brock at Mania, that's exactly what is going to happen. This seems to always happen when Ambrose is wearing midcard gold.

I think he's a dynamic personality. I don't tire nearly as easily on his diatribes as most do, but it's nearly impossible to buy him as a credible threat right now to the likes of Lesnar or The Undertaker. He's just been too damaged. I think Bray is talented enough to correct course on that, but he needs time. They can't just have him beat up Ryback and Big Show, two characters who have been defined down as much if not more than Bray, and expect him to return to form. It doesn't work that way. If I had my way, at this point, the Wyatts would be moved into more of a support role this year. Either put them against a group like the League of Nations, or just let them run through the team of guys they've been beating up lately (Show, Ryback, Kane, and someone else) to get them a Mania win. Then, work on re-establishing Bray so that they can revisit a money match-up with him next year. The only other scenario that would work for me is if they have Randy Orton waiting. The Wyatts technically are the reason he's on the shelf from a storyline perspective, so if he's ready to go (and that is very much a big if), I wouldn't mind using him to face Bray.

It's likely a longshot but maybe Roman turns on Dean out of jealousy.

Ambrose/Lesnar must happen at WM. They got the ball rolling on the feud right now.

The difference between him and Roman's rise to the main event - Ambrose was a natural and it happened organically. I'm sure Roman doesn't take it for granted, but they pushed him too quickly.

Dean Ambrose is "outshining" Roman Reigns because he's being booked to do so. This triple threat match has been awkwardly booked. Roman and Brock have barely interacted. Why would anyone want to see Brock vs Dean in a one on one match? It would be a 5 minute squash match(see Seth Rollins at Battleground). 1) Dean as the insane guy wanting to take a beating would make it fun. 2) It is way more interesting than Brock/Bray. 3) The interactions between Brock and Ambrose have been super entertaining. I haven't been this invested in a Brock program since the Punk one in 2013. His feuds with Cena, Reigns, Seth and Undertaker were all lackluster. 4) They do't have to make it a five minute squash. They could book it like Punk/Brock at SummerSlam 2013. Have it be a No DQ match where Dean does everything in his power to try and throw everything at Brock. Preach

Bray/Brock is still most likely happening. This is similar to when they started the Bray/Cena feud at the 2014 Royal Rumble, then forgot about it for a few weeks, only to pick it back up at the next PPV. I sense that happening again.

Bray's just looking strong to make whomever beats him at WM look "great". Three years in a row, Maggle!

Same reason people wanted to see CM Punk v. Lesnar (see SummerSlam). Because he is a fan favorite and easy to get behind. Lesnar is portrayed in mythical proportions and even though fans love Brock, they would probably want to cheer on the underdog Ambrose much much more. 1) Dean as the insane guy wanting to take a beating would make it fun. 2) It is way more interesting than Brock/Bray. 3) The interactions between Brock and Ambrose have been super entertaining. Let's not even compare CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar with a possible Dean vs Brock match. And since then Lesnar's booking has changed. I agree that it would be more interesting than Brock/Bray but seriously does anyone really believe that a Brock vs Dean match would be anything more than a squash? Dean is smaller than Seth Rollins and look how they booked it. Hell you just need to look at the past couple of weeks. Everytime Dean comes close to Brock he gets squashed.

I think it's going to go a different way. I think he's going to continue his "poke the bear" routine after FastLane. Except this time - it'll be The Undertaker...

Sheamus, Rusev and Del Rio were all competitive. While Dean is slightly smaller than Seth, he's bigger than Punk and not much smaller than Reigns, while also playing the insane role. He could be believable as someone who survives the onslaught and throws everything at Brock. And even if it is a five minute squash, I'd still rather see that than Bray/Brock. Hell, just the weekly build for Dean/Brock would be worth it, unlike the build for other recent Lesnar matches.

So trying to sway away from the depression filled night that was Monday Night Retirement, lets talk about Dean Ambrose. I have been a fan of the guy but nothing more nothing less, but last night he convinced me that he is THE man right now in WWE. Going toe to toe with Lesnar this week and last. Calling him out, getting beat down and asking for more, had me wanting more of it. I am not trying to bash Reigns/Vince, but this is the exact reason they should not have put Ambrose into the #1 contenders match; he is completely outshining Reigns in every aspect. He has not backed down from Brock or HHH, sells like a champ, and plays the "crazy" role to perfection. But again, when Reigns beats he and Lesnar at Fastlane, I think it is going to make Ambrose's star that much brighter. In closing, the guy finally sold me as to why he should be main eventing PPV's and WrestleManias. I have been impressed with him before, but last night kicked me into overdrive. Totally agree, best thing going for WWE right now!

You can say New Day is the best thing going in WWE right now, but you'd be wrong.
Dean Ambrose has survived the mid-card shuffle, had many quality feuds, and is a merch machine.
Dean Ambrose is the best thing going on in WWE.

Rollins and Ambrose are kayfabe two completely different wrestlers. Seth was playing the cowardly heel and got cornered in that match, Ambrose is the lunatic fringe who doesn't give a damn about what happens to himself as long as he takes someone down with him. It's a lot easier to buy Dean's character getting up from a beating, especially if they went with a no DQ route - which would allow Dean to fight back in a way that's believeable.

Because the match that Punk/Lesnar had is infinitive times better than anything Dean/Brock will ever do. I wouldn't call the matches that Brock had at recent house shows competitive. His opponents got some offense but they all got squashed pretty quick. Ever since he broke the streak Lesnar's booking changed and the only people that came close to defeat him were Cena(in his rematch), Roman at Wrestlemania and The Undertaker recently. Those were the only guys WWE portrayed like they stood a chance. Dean is smaller than Seth and there's a good difference in his build with Roman's build. Very noticeable when you put both of them face to face with Lesnar: I get that Dean's character is a guy who enjoys getting punished but that doesn't really change much. It doesn't matter if he gets beat up for ten minutes or five. In the end he's getting squashed by Lesnar. Just look at what they've been doing with them in the last two weeks. The only offense Dean got was a low blow(thanks to a distraction). Once again I agree that even a squash match with Dean would be more interesting than Bray/Brock. When I said that I don't know why would anyone want a Ambrose/Lesnar one on one match was because there seems to be some people that would rather have that than the triple threat we're getting at Fastlane. And that I don't get at all.

Love Ambrose, but they made him look weak by having to resort to a low blow. Ambrose is this guy who's supposed to always be up for a fight, and he stoops as low as a cheap shot from behind? Awful booking, tbh.

Most of us feel a certain way and you clearly have a different viewpoint. I could tell you all of the ways the match would be interesting and you'd respond with every way that you think they wouldn't. It's pointless back and forth that I don't have time for at this point.

It's weird I've always been a fan of his but I was starting to sour on him recently (probably because of the hot and cold booking for him and the 6/8 Man Tags) but needless to say over the last two weeks or so I'm on the Ambrose train again.

Well, we could squash the argument entirely if Ambrose won the triple threat, went on to face Triple H, and Reigns turned into a monster heel and ended Taker's career at Mania, but, that isn't happening, so, I digress.
