Best part of elites is when guys who wear trunks don't have that "V" thing going on like basics. That also messes up any deco for basics.

Double jointed elbows...
Why Mattel does not add those? I have been curious, anyone ever heard of a reason?

Its a mixed bag. For posing, the ab crunch is nice. For strictly displaying, the ab crunch is a distraction from the sculpt. So it depends on your preference. I personally buy both elites and basics, so anytime theres the choice in displaying and posing them, i just use whichever body type suits that situation at the moment. I'm like him i buy both but mostly i buy basics because of budget and because they are easier to display. But when i buy elites is because they look super awesome or is a figure that came in elite only. Plus the accessories for the elites are suepr awesome. Having the ab movement is really difficult sometimes when is tight or really loose. Those are my only two cons, the rest is thumbs Up.

I love the elites! Basics on the other hand.... My only problem with the elites is when they have the correct parts and use the wrong ones.

I've always hated the ab crunch. From a cosmetic standpoint it's hideous. I get the use for playability, or possibility, but I don't do either.
I don't understand this over articulated world we live in now. Like, 52 points of articulation on a 6inch figures makes it look like sh*t. It's the same reason I don't need 20 points on a 4" figure when 9 will do just fine.

Double jointed elbows>ab crunch That's like saying pancakes are better than waffles, doesn't make sense, they're both good for different reasons. I'd like double elbows to make posing more realistic, but definitely not at the cost of the ab hinge.

I've been collecting since the ttl days and elites don't excite me as much as jakks figures did for the simple fact I'm not a child anymore so I don't have that connection with them. That said, they're the best wrestling figures ever made. The detail, especially in the early years were phenomenal. That said the quality has gone down considerably. What used to be cloth has turned to plastic. Belt quality has gone down becoming one piece of rubber. But we're also getting a ton of new characters which is nice. Price point is meh, but it gets worse when the price goes up and quality goes down. I don't mind price increases only if we get the same quality. That's the reason to raise it. But to keep making them cost more and give us less is unethical. But as far as the actual figures are concerned, they are the best we could hope for at twenty bucks. I love the articulation. I wish I had these as a child because the leg articulation alone makes them special. I can't even touch a basic because of the lack of articulation. My biggest problem though has to be part choices. I voice this opinion a lot because very few people bring it up. The arms are my biggest problem. Yes they're action figures of real people and they shouldn't be unrealistically jacked (like jakks) but to give Rick rude, orton and hhh, guys who are huge, cruiserweight arms that were on xpac, then give dolph ziggker the ripped arms, is stupid and stands out. Luckily they fixed it with the e35 orton, but it still stinks. That's my number one issue.

That's why they are Elites due to the extra articulation.

The ab crunch is absolutely hideous and is the sole reason I don't buy elites. For the life of me, I can't understand why it's there, I mean people don't have a joint in the middle of their torso, so why do the figures? The divas having the ab crunch irritates the life out of me, not only is it ugly, but at least 3 our of 5 of them have an ab joint that's loose as hell, they can't stand up straight, Charlotte and Paige recently have been particularly wobbly round the middle part.

Elites are fine the way they are. Don't play with them but love to display them in poses. I only collect elites as well and not a fan of basics.

My biggest problem with Elites is by far the lack of ankle movement. The joint is there yet 1 in 25 Elites I buy won't budge. So the ab crunch really isn't much of a problem for me since I use it for posing.

I dont mind it too much. For display purposes I get why people are distracted by it. The movement on elites is so much better. I buy both so Im not too concerned with either. Actually my post adds absolutely nothing to this discussion. lol

I love the ab crunch, I guess I don't like the price and sometimes I think they can release too much, they should strictly keep to six sets a year in my opinion but that's just me.

I don't like that they take several years/18 months to come out after the guy has debuted
