Does any know why Carmella didn't win the diva search 2005? she was hotter than Christy Hemme and at least we got Candice Michelle, Joy Giovanni, Maria Kanellis, and Michelle McCool. out of the diva search look where it got them today I wish they have keep Joy Giovanni around a bit longer

I don't think she even had one percent of WWE love going through her body that entire time. She was just there for the fame of it all, and to be noticed, and such. The ones that got hired by WWE showed they wanted to be WWE entertainers.

I don't think she even had one percent of WWE love going through her body that entire time. She was just there for the fame of it all, and to be noticed, and such. The ones that got hired by WWE showed they wanted to be WWE entertainers. I thought she was fine, honestly. I think she should have won. |

I never cared for the diva searches and honestly I don't remember over 80% of them..

It was the 2004 Diva Search, Ashley won 2005.
My favourite was Joy Giovanni, if she had trained and got a match she could of been a good diva. She had the looks and mic skills already.
Maria, Candice & Michelle did fine
Christy I wish she was there a little longer
Carmella was terrible in the ring she was employed by WWE for a little while.
Amy she was entertaining with JBL and I always used to get excited each time her and Joy got closer to fight because she played the heel very well but non-factor in all honesty.
Tracie... Yeah she was in the contest too.
Camille, I could care less
Chandra & Julia, I'm thankful we have Bella Twins over those two. Again non-factors at all.

The fans obviously loved Christy who showed a ton of enthusiasm in everything she did while Carmella didn't do much, if anything to impress, rubbed everyone the wrong way, had a poor attitude and was seemingly only there for the money and to be on TV.
Christy is still involved in the business to this day while Carmella was gone as soon as the Diva Search was over, says all you need to know about the "right" person winning.
The only argument you've given as to why she should've won is because you thought she was "hotter", if that's all you have then you're part of the problem.

I had no idea Carmella was apart of a Diva Search. Knowledge is Power. Not the current NXT Carmella. The Playboy Carmella was in the diva search. Stunning girl but she had no interest in being an actual performer. I remember her bombing every time she had to speak.Cristy was def. the right choice. |

Carmella was just there to be Christy's rival in the final, to be an obnoxious bitch & for her sex appeal.. mission accomplished, I'm sure she helped turn a lot of boys into men that summer. ;] |

Joy was insanely hot.
Also, Christy was MUCH hotter than Carmella to me and, outside of Michelle McCool, was the best option to win.

Carmella was the Playmate of the year and dating Jeff Garcia at the time. She said it was just about expanding her fame and trying to find new ways to earn money by being attractive. She had no interest in wrestling and had major attitude issues, show by latter starting that nightclub fight. I always felt the WWE brought her in to try to show how many women coveted the role of WWE Diva but it failed as many of them had shady pasts and no desire to travel or wrestle.

I heard WWE offered her a contract and really wanted her to sign but she turned it down. The best they could do was get her to stick around for a short time after the Diva Search. I don't believe she was ever under any kind of contract the entire time and just paid by appearance.

While I can't vouch for this this but I heard that a lot of people in the back hated the Diva Search. It took away TV time from certain talents. I regards to the women, they made the right choice in having Christy Hemme win. At least she and along with Michelle McCool and Maria Kanellis took the industry seriously. Other than those three, there was zero upside in keeping them for long. The sad part about the 2004 Diva Search was we felt the effects of it for years.

the divas search in my opinion is up there with some of the absolute worst television the wwe has ever produced. I sat through HLA, but I could not sit through this. between hhh's marathon promos and the divas search, raw sucked at that time...

She never actually wrestled minus the Miss Wrestlemania battle royal so I guess she basically never did wrestle. She was astonishingly good-looking and was a great face and good with the fans. I agree with Carmella lol. She did play the part well. Shame WWE didn't keep her after it and just released her she played a heel very well. |
