Can't say I really blame him. He's injury prone as hell though so not sure where he could go for decent money.

I felt like they officially killed him with the King gimmick. This is a guy I feel like they really dropped the ball with.

TLC 2010 was the end for Barrett.
Barrett should have been given the belt at Survivor Series 2010. A true main-event caliber heel at the time.

Terrible. I was always a big fan. I thought surely the King of the Ring win was going to propel him. Perhaps the ship has sailed after being injured one too many times. However, I always enjoyed him. Hopefully he obtains the success he is looking for elsewhere.

He GOT the gimmick over. When he started doing it, it was awful. Nobody cared. Much like New Day when they started. He was over as a part of Nexus. He was over with Bad News eventually. Barrett wasn't over ON HIS OWN in the Nexus. The Bad News gimmick started and got over on the JBL & Cole Show. Hell, the gimmick worked so well that they also tried repackaging Slater and Cesaro through the show as Clem Layfield and "Bad Joke" Cesaro respectively, it wasn't like New Day at all. The New Day formed as a somewhat militant group, were pulled off TV after the first week for 4 months, came back as a weird preachy group, were floundering for 5 months, then pulled a Bo Dallas and got super over as self-help/inspiring heels, and continued evolving from there. Outside of those two gimmicks, he has floundered in every other gimmick he has been put in. He was the leader of the Nexus. You may not want to give him credit, but he deserves it. I dont care if Bad News started on JBL's show. How can you say it got over on that show? Not enough people watch it to make an impact. Maybe New Day started in the locker room or in the showers or at dinner. That doesnt mean it got over then.

He's a top-five guy for charisma/mic skills in the WWE right now. So underutilized. I know he's hurt right now, but seriously, how has he not been the mouthpiece for the League of Nations this whole time? I'm sure he'll do fine in whatever he does next, be it Hollywood or going to put on some solid matches in ROH, TNA, or other indies.

Not a huge loss. Would have been a great mid carder if the WWE had a legitimate midcard still, but never was good enough to be a main eventer

I think he thinks he can become a crossover star. He's done some acting. I'm very sure he won't be leaving the WWE solely to do 'indies' and global companies.
I'll bet he settles down in TNA, gets a World Title run there & then gets bit parts as a goon in some Direct-to-DVD movies.

I'll miss him, I was a big fan. So many times it looked like he was about to break through. I think the best chance was early 2012 or 13 (I forget which) around EC. He had just been in the feud with Orton, he and Cody Rhodes both looked like they were on the precipice of main event heeldom. It's been all downhill since then. BnB was amazing, then they cut the legs from it, then he got injured AGAIN, then he won KOTR, but kept jobbing to Neville, and that was the end of him. It was a mix of injuries and poor booking. The arm injury in 2012 was probably what first derailed him - having the IC title and losing EVERY match was some of the worst booking ever. This happened to him TWICE! Its like they try to make sure certain guys can't stay over. Yes, he was injury prone, but there is no doubt in my mind he could have been a main event heel, just like Cody Rhodes. I don't blame him for leaving, I just hope he goes somewhere that he will be utilized and that he stays healthy. Maybe Glade Ferret will show up in the Impact Zone, or Stu Bennett will kick ass in Lucha Underground. His bare knuckle gimmick would be perfect in Lucha Underground.

I've been a huge Barrett fan for sometime now and I am convinced he could have been a huge star. His work in the ring is always so fun to watch and he's entertaining as hell. I thought the combo of him and Sheamus could have been money but they just turned into evil foreign goons. Hoping for the best from Barrett in whatever he attempts to do next...

At least the best since his Chosen One IC run. TNA could be good for Barrett. Lighter schedule, more time to shine. Some people are great as big fish in a smaller pond and Barrett could be one of them.

He's sure as hell gone a lot further than he would've with 3mb. Plus, WWE spawned social outcasts and that's even more entertaining. I'm sure both sides will be fine.

TLC 2010 was the end for Barrett. Barrett should have been given the belt at Survivor Series 2010. A true main-event caliber heel at the time. If booked correctly, Barrett couldve had a nice run as WWE Champion and main evented Wrestlemania 27 against John Cena which wouldve been better than what the fans were given for that show and the months leading up to it.

He's one guy I'm actually curious to see in Japan. He's pretty injury prone though, so I doubt it.
