Legit, like, what was the point in this?
Why would Vince spend the time, money and effort to bring him in from All Japan and fly him to America all the way from Japan just to have him be eliminated in 3 minutes and never be seen again? I understand they were probably short on people for the Rumble match itself at the time, but goddamn that seems like a colossal waste of time and money for everybody involved.

Maybe he thought people from All-Japan might tune in to see Omari?

That mid to late 90s period of WWF PPVs like Royal Rumble/Survivor Series makes me think that Vince isn't "so" pro-WWF that he can't try and put other talent on the roster. 1996 Rumble saw a few non-WWF roster wrestlers but I also think 'what was the point?'
It seems like Vince didn't even know the point either, he didn't know much about most of the non-WWF guys, neither did Mr. Perfect. I'm sure JR would educate us, though. I also have to wonder if Vince was even involved in bringing Omari for the show.
