Whatever happened to that like whitish/light blue eye he had. I was watching a PPV from 2005 and saw he had it and completely forgot about it. Does anyone know if that was real or a contact for part of the gimmick? As well as when he got rid of it because I can't remember that last time I saw it.

Contact I think Rey used to wear ones similar too. They can cause problems for your eyes so I guess they just got too irritated by them and stope putting them in.

He was suppose to be blind in the 1 eye but I think they just forgot about it.

You think his eye was so badly injured from a fire that it changed the color of his iris -- while inexplicably leaving the pupil untouched -- and you also think that this injury just went away? Just like his scars and burned off hair that he supposedly couldn't grow back because of the fire, the writers just ignored it after a while. So, what was even the point of him even wearing a mask in the first place you ask? Nobody knows.

Getting into wrestling in 2004, I actually thought the eye thing was real. I didn't know Kane's story before 2004, and I know there's a rare genetic thing that can cause eyes to be two different colors, and thought "hey, cool little thing."
Then I found out they were contacts and was like "BOOOOOOO."

I still don't understand why he had the burns the night he unmasked. Surely they knew they weren't going to be able to keep up with applying them every week and making them look good. Why didn't he just continue to wear the mask after he'd been unmasked? He wore it to cover his burns, he's not a luchadore. After he'd been humiliated, he could have just gone back to covering up his burns with his mask...

He wore it the whole time with the exception of the Corporate Kane run - he literally changes everything for that gimmick. He had worn it since the 03 masking all the way through his 2010 world title run and into 2011 before he went away and came back masked again.

Once he unmasked they started to portray the burns as a psychological thing. the black was just from the make up. |
