Ok first off to get it out of the way I know Andre The Giant was a Legend and It's an honor to have this and win
But what's the purpose of it I mean Cesaro and Big Show won and it meant nothing just a trophy type (Slammy award) that's not even mentioned or brought up like a Slammy
I mean the least they could do for the winner of this is give em a US or IC title shot
Or like Money in The Bank
And are they even doing it for WM32 (I honestly hope not) especially if they don't think of a purpose for it

If they do do it, which I assumed they would. I was hoping they would have an NXT tournament again where the winner goes in the match. That was great. Looks like it's too late now though.

I wish it meant something. Hopefully it will this year, and the guy who should've won it last year, wins this year. Damien Sandow.

Well, the "purpose" of it in reality is to get the lower card/on a storyline brain fart guys a 'mania payday.

To me it is just a nice yearly event. You win, you get a trophy named in someone's honor. Nothing wrong with that. It's an achievement, and a stepping stone. Not everything has to have the prestige of the World Title. It gets people a pay day and its a simple fun battle royal.

I fully expect it to be relegated to the pre show again to cover everyone who didn't get a match.

Just an excuse to get everyone on the card. Would be nice if they added another benefit to winning though. Even # 1 contender to the IC title or something like that.

I hate the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Money in the Bank was becoming a great WrestleMania tradition.

It's a lazy booking strategy to get everyone a payday. It could matter if they cared, but they don't, so it doesn't.

The Andre battle royal at XXX is probably the best booked battle royal they e ever done. So many good spots

historically it means something because Andre was invovled in countless battle royales in the 70s/80s which he always won. So that's significant lineage there.
'Cept it really is a way to give the lower card workers a pay day at WrestleMania. For all the aweful things you hear that WWE does as a company, that's actually kind of nice that they will at least give their undercard some shine on the biggest event in their calendar.
Doesn't amount to much else, and it doesn't have to.

It would be nice if Andre The Giant would at least show up this year to compete in his event?!
But seriously, I can't wait to see Braun Strowman win it, than beat Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, win the 2017 Royal Rumble and face Roman Reigns for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 33.

Personally would like to see Cesaro win again, not sure about his current injury status though.

It's a way to get people on the card and it's much better than the old yearly lumberjack pre-show match.

I enjoy it for what it's worth, it's not like anyone ever expected anything big from it.
Plus we got the cool Cesaro eliminating Big Show moment in the first.

People give it sh** for no real reason. Gives guys a chance to work Mania who would have made the card elsewhere. If I worked for the company, I'd be happy to appear on the card regardless.

They should make it mean something, like the winner receives a future world title match.

Would you rather half the roster that isn't Ambrose, Reigns, Rollins, Cena or Brock just sit around backstage all day at the biggest show of the year? I'd add in the winner gets either a United States or Intercontinental Title shot. But even if they don't, everyone gets to say they competed at WrestleMania. Cesaro winning helped start off his singles run which they rushed to all hell and mostly used Paul Heyman to remind everyone that Brock beat Taker. Big Show won because, well he had to at some point. If Bray wins this year, I'd have him the following night do his usual promo, mention how Andre never won the World Title but he will and he decimates Roman or Trip if he somehow retains.
