well he's out hurt so it's kinda hard to book him Forgetting Asuka, are we?  But, their booking in NXT isn't really a concern... it's when Vince gets a hold of them that you should be scared. Y'know, since there's a good chance they could become Jimmy Wang Yang v2. I should have clarified I was talking talking about the guys lol Yeah I just hope they let nakamura do his thing |

WWE is just getting greedy now. Lets see how they book Nakamura first before they start scooping away all of NJPW's top guys.

NJPW just offered Okada a 5 year contract and he's loyal. He's not going anywhere. Thanks, Rob - absolutely right. Plus there's more to being a star than just being tall, but I guess not to WWE, eh? |

Why are they interfering with NJPW so much? Okada is on fire over there. Leave him be. Maybe they're worried New Japan could gain more traction in the U.S? I dunno, but it definitely seems like they've been targeting the New Japan guys heavily lately. I love Okada's work, but I don't see him leaving New Japan for a while. They've clearly positioned him as the number one guy over there. It also helps they've offered him a lengthy deal and if the WWE seriously offered him a contract I suspect New Japan would more or less give him a blank cheque and let him determine what it'd take to keep him there. They can't afford to lose Okada on top of Styles and Nakamura After that contract's up, who knows? By then we'll know how WWE handled a guy like Nakamura, and by then Okada will have had a long reign at the top of New Japan and it might be time for him to move on. I don't doubt WWE are interested, but they've got enough toys to play with right now haha |

My assumption with the NJPW hires and stronger interest in NJPW talent is coming quite a bit from Matt Bloom. Plus, look at both Balor and AJ and how they're working out pretty well so far. Seems like they feel pretty good about Nakamura.
NJPW is the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. If someone is successful over there, and WWE feels that guy can translate to their own product, it should come as zero surprise that WWE has interest in bringing that person to WWE.
Triple H has said over-and-over that he feels the territory system is what really made guys good. LU, Evolve, PWG, TNA, ROH, NJPW. These are the new Portland, Memphis, WCCW, Florida, AWA and Mid-Atlantic. That's my interpretation of how Triple H views "competition" for WWE, which is more like a minor league feeder system. So them going out and getting one of the biggest stars available from the "territories" doesn't really shock me.
I'm a big fan of Okada. His gimmick is polarizing, the entrance, the look, and it really stands out where he's at. He should take advantage of Nakamura and AJ leaving and cash-out with NJPW right now though. He can take that 5 year deal and still be younger than Nakamura is now when that deal is up. It's a bit of a gamble in the sense that someone from Japan could flop with WWE during that period, and the door for NJPW guys might be more like a window, but my guess is that we're going to see more of these type of hires five years from now, not less.
I think it's also worth noting that some of these guys probably have to take less money to go to WWE, most of them maybe. Look at the James Storm situation. Okada is probably being offered considerably more money to stay in Japan because he's worth more to NJPW right now. He's in a different position than a guy like AJ or Nakamura. Both of those guys have made great money for a sustained period of time and they both left TNA/NJPW with nothing left to prove or accomplish. So again, I see Okada staying and then revisiting the WWE route after that 5 year deal is over.

They do love tall people. In a few years we'll see if Okada changes his tune since it depends on Shinsuke Nakamura WWE run. If Nakamura is successful (which i strongly hope he is) then i think alot of Japanese wrestlers will try and leverage NJPW/other companys to give them more money, long term contracts etc. |

Both GFW and ROH approached them about about presenting WK10 on PPV here for them. They declined, which I thought was an odd decision since their app still isn't ready for their English-speaking audience. I'd say they are gaining traction here. I'm thinking the WWE want to nip this in the bud before they become real competition. |
