Anyone remember enjoying this pairing? As a kid I was indifferent to them even though I loved Owen. Since I've been reviewing Raw episodes from 1995, I've been given the opportunity to go back and watch them and they were actually pretty good. Yokozuna was beyond huge at this point and usually didn't contribute much, but Owen was excellent and they went on to have good matches against the Smoking Gunns (not a team I usually enjoy), Razor Ramon and Savio Vega, 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly and they even got a halfway decent match out of Men on a Mission.

I wasn't much of a fan back then because I was watching way more WCW, but I did watch and enjoy them on WWE 24/7 when that was a new service.

I just watched the Raw 1995 shows about 10 months ago or so, and I loved everything about that year.
The Owen/Yoko team worked really well together. They had great matches with everyone they faced. It's too bad we never got to see a proper Yoko/Owen vs. HBK/Diesel match that was advertised at September In Your House.
Also weird that Owen/Yoko weren't on SummerSlam that year. Even having Yoko/Owen vs. Sid/Tatanka for the Tag Titles in a heel vs. heel match would have been alright to have seen.

Such a great team. I loved their matches with HBK & Diesel. When did these matches happen?? They had a schedule match at the In Your House PPV but Bulldog took Owen's spot, and the only other time I remember these two teams facing each other was on a Raw in October of 95 in a six man tag involving Undertaker and the Bulldog.

1995 was such an odd year.

I know I remember seeing one on Raw, & I want to say another on Superstars?

Yoko took time off at the end of '94 and gained around 70lbs in a few months. that's a crazy amount to gain in a few months Watch a match from '94, then compare it to one of his appearances in '95. You can definitely see the difference. He should have stopped performing at this point and undergone weight loss surgery. His back and legs couldn't have felt good by '95.

Owen and Yoko were an example of a make shift team that definitely worked. 1995 saw a lot of failed gimmicks, angles and such and Owen and Yoko were one of the few things that really worked, IMO.
