I tried to, but I can't. Since Jakks stopped making WWE figures, I've stopped buying every figure in every series, and it helped me save a lot of $$$ lol.

I can't stop collecting. It's an addiction. I've tried several times but I keep falling off the wagon and I start collecting again.
The only way I would ever stop collecting is if my mummie made me. I don't think she would ever do that though because she loves me and she knows how much I like it.
I used to trick myself and lie and say that I could if I had to but I know now that those were just lies and that I was fooling myself.

I thought I could. I really did. When Jakks stopped and Mattel took over, I was basically done. I was really into DCUC at the time, so it was easy to transition from one line to another. I bought a few early Mattels but eventually just sold them, sold 99% of my original Jakks collection, and I was finished.
Until about last year. DDP brought me back in. I had started my Nitro retrospective blog and was super into WCW again. DDP arrived right at the time I needed him to. Then came me tracking down other WCW guys like Elite 37 Malenko, Elite 38 Savage, the Outsiders 2 pack, the RSC Outsiders...
I told myself I was just after WCW guys this go 'round. Then I picked up DM Austin...and saw the Network HBK that's coming out...and then realized that Razor would go well with that HBK...
And now I've reactivated my account after not posting in about six years...

I tired to spot after Jakks. Pretty much did for a while. Didn't have 1 elite, I only collected while Legends and Adam were being made. Then E16 pulled me back in.
As to the question. I would stop in heart beat with no issue if I lost my job, my girl asked me too or it wasn't fun anymore. They are little plastic action figures in a box. A fact that hasn't never been forgotten by myself.

I would love to stop collecting…if Mattel stops making Championship Title Belts that I don’t have. After I get the Elite 40 United States Championship Title Belt and the Elite 40 NXT Championship Title Belt, I think I will stop. The only Championship Title Belts that would be missing, that are highly possible to be made would be the NXT Tag Team Championship Title Belts, unless of course they decide to make WCW and ECW Championship Title Belts.

I'm a collecting addict, no getting around that. I have "stopped" collecting wrestling figures at various points in my life, but then I just refocused that energy on another collection like McFarlane Sportspicks, sports cards, or other action figures. So, no quitting collecting just isn't going to happen. I can sometimes stop buying wrestling figures, but I end up spending the same amount of time and money on a different collection. That's just what I do.

I pretty much have. I like looking at the new stuff but I dont really feel the need to buy stuff anymore. I did buy Balor because I was anticipating him for a long time, but I don't really plan to buy many more in the future. I MIGHT get HOF Edge and Jake if I see them, but its not a priority. Theres really no more must-haves that they could make that I would want. Maybe Goldberg.

If it was a drastic difference in styles ala Jakks and Mattel I would definitely stop. If Mattel loses the license and the next company still uses the same size and scaled figures I would probably continue.

I went through a period of no extra money, like everyone does, I just stopped buying everything but those I HAD to have
Then once I got my money sorted, im back to buying like crazy and fully caught up
I don't think I'd want to stop collecting, I've met some awesome friends and got some awesome stories
Especially doing youtube, it's like playing with the figures for an adult xD

If I got this list of wrestling figures from Mattel, then I will be done (Highly doubtful with who's on this list though);
Owen Hart (Both King of Harts & Hart Foundation '97 Attire with Slammys & leather jacket) Raven (Preferably an ECW/WCW look, with the curly hair, goatee, shorts & shirt look) Hakushi Tatanka (It's likely we'll get him, so I'm looking forward to that) Evil Crush Ken Shamrock Bull Nakano Luna Vachon Alundra Blaze Sherri Martel (Manager Attire) Flashback Goldust

A fact that hasn't never been forgotten by myself. I haven't forgotten that either. I went through a spell when I was trying to find a new job where I basically had to stop for a little while. Really I collect because it's fun for myself and my two boys. If my wife ever asked me to quit, I'd tell her to piss off unless it caused issues. She lets me do what I do and doesn't have an issue with it though. If my boys ever decide to grow up, I guess I would think about stopping. It's fun though. I love the look on their faces when I pull some new figure out of the box for myself and tell them there's nothing else and then I pull out whatever I got for them.(<<This doesn't work much anymore because they know if I get something they did too.) It's fun and a way for me to bond with my boys. When I was a kid we just didn't have much money and the things I do with my kids are what I wished my parents would have been able to do for me. So I try to remember that money is just paper and as long as something is fun, I'll do as I please with it.

Not saying I'm considering it or need to, but I often see these threads floating around on here about people "getting out" and subsequently having a fire sale on their collection, only to regret it and return in a few months all sad. So I've been asking myself recently...could I stop if I felt like I wanted or needed to? Obviously I would like to say yes, this hobby doesn't control me...but recent occurrences have given me pause to think about how deeply and firmly the collecting bug has got its talons sunk into me... So I ask you...do you truly think if circumstances dictated it...you could walk away....for good...and not look back? Some people just don't have the passion and dedication, or they did and lost it. I contemplated starting a cm punk collection while jakks still had the wwe toy license. I decided against it back then because if i knew if i did it i was going to go all in. That and i was still not totally sold on punk, then he dropped that pipebomb and the rest is history. I am never selling my punk collection, I would rather sell a kidney if i needed the money. The same goes for my hitman hart collection. My others figures i could unload if i completely lost interest and be done. My guess is if that happened i would have found something else to collect. But if it was a case of losing my job and not having money, then eating and surviving are more important.

I've tried several times, even going so far as to sell most of my collection 3 times. Eventually I always get pulled back in. Even when I was losing interest this pat fall again and thought about just selling my current/modern roster collection figures, I didn't. I remembered the past, and having to look for things again. So I kept everything. And I'm glad I did with figures like elite New Day, Neville, KO, the NXT guys and gals, etc. coming fast and furious.

If I had to save money and get serious about my finances, I easily could. Right now, I am okay with money and can afford it..but I'd choose daily necessities over figures any day.[ Said perfectly! I can afford it which is why I do it. My wife doesn't mind me doing it but I'm a finance guy so I make sure everything else comes first before figures.

It's easy to walk away. I'd find it harder to come back. I've walked away before but found it much harder to stay away.

It's very hard for me too. I pretty much stopped collecting Jakks at the end but started again on Mattel. I was a completist at first getting all figures in each series. Then repainted were more frequent and multiple releases happened and I slowed down. I sold off my collection and thought I was done. Picked back up with the legends like and not only get flashbacks. I did try to stop buying those too around elite 16 I passed on Nash once( yeah I'm an idiot) and most of the Rsc exclusives around that time. Now I buy all legends and stop there. If I was financially unable to then yeah probably
