I'm trying to fix this custom of me, I don't want to break the torso. How can I fix this.

If you don't want to torso crack, you could break the leg off the shorts and glue the torso on but you'll, obviously, lose moveability.

What's the problem exactly? Is the waist peg not compatible with the upper body?

In that case use a rotary tool to reshape either the peg or the ab piece to fit. Most custom work is very straightforward
