Assuming you didn't warp the plastic when cracking it open, bodies won't snap back together simply because there's something obstructing the areas where the halves meet. Even if there's a millimeter of material in the way, it'll completely stop the body from closing. Use a knife to trim all around the inner border of the pieces and snip down the tips of any pegs inside. Focus on areas that look smushed, like where ever you pried the halves apart.
