Couple tidbits, while awaiting a potential blockbuster today:
*Phillies have hired Jimmy Rollins as a special adviser to the organization. Never officially announced an end to his playing career, but he's taking part in a retirement ceremony later this coming season, alongside Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. Per the club, Rollins will be engaged in “spring training coaching, meeting with sponsors and suite holders, fan engagement and community outreach,” among other roles.
*Former Phillie/Padre SS Freddy Galvis signs a 1-year, $5M deal in Toronto. $4M salary and a $1M buyout of 2020, or the club can exercise the option at $5.5M for that season.

Ironically, I've bought The Show every year since 2004 (before it even became The Show), except 2014. I can't tell you how many thousands of hours I've wasted in my various Phillies Franchises. |

A video game isn’t going to break the news of a major signing in baseball. All signs are pointing to it. Just gotta wait. I don’t even think he’ll be announced before Spring Training. |

I was going off the Vegas odds on the Phillies winning the WS supposedly jumping this afternoon, but yeah, anyone really hoping for an announcement from the Show teaser was just setting themselves up for disappointment (plus it absolutely would've leaked beforehand). |

Yankees pitcher Zach Britton has changed his name from ZacH Britton with an H to ZacK Britton with a K. He's ZACK, now.
But yeah, it's February 7 and we still have Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Craig Kimbrel, Dallas Keutchel all as Free Agents....

Phillies trade Sixto Sanchez, Jorge Alfaro, Will Stewart and int'l bonus pool money to the Marlins for all-star C J.T. Realmuto.
J.T. is under team control for 2 years and is very cheap. $2.5M-$3M in 2019.
