You internet fanboys forget styles debuted in a title match. ...In a match that featured 29 other guys, many of whom are perennial jobbers or close to it. I fail to see how this is relevant in any way, shape, or form.

Not sure what you're talking about here, I posted a lengthy and entirely positive reaction to the idea of AJ being in the title match in this thread. I was reacting to the negative connotation that people were somehow forgetting Styles debuted in the Rumble, a title match, by saying that it hardly mattered, since virtually everyone was in that match. I hardly view being a competitor in the Royal Rumble on par with receiving a singles, main event, World title match.

Who knows if AJ Styles will win or not that's WWE to decide, it could possibly happen. Just like when people didn't think Sheamus will beat Cena for the WWE title and he did. I just know Roman is going to get constantly booed cuz fans are going to be rooting for AJ Styles.

I'm baffled as to what they think they're actually going to achieve by doing this in all honesty. There absolutely not going to put the Title on AJ as they might as well of just had him win the Rumble if that was the case, and it certainly wont help there already lost cause of trying to get Roman over. It's once again false hope. The only thing I can think of is that while I was certain we'd get a Roman Reigns vs Chris Jericho feud, they simply think that that alone is not enough to keep us tuning in, so they've gone on a limb with Styles. It wouldn't surprise me if this ends up a Triple Threat with Jericho added to the equation though. I just feel as though they are giving us AJ in an attempt to keep us interested, and while for sure I'd rather it was AJ than Jericho, Kane, Big Show, Ryback, Bray Wyatt etc, it doesn't make me any more excited as I already know the outcome. I guess the next 6 months is going to be one long slog until we get Reigns vs Cena or Rollins at Summerslam.

I really don't get the negative reactions at all. This is great on so many fronts.AJ Styles will be main event a WWE PPV for the World Title against the current "Chosen One" in Roman Reigns less then four month into his run with the company. That a monster rub and shows that WWE actually views him a legit main eventer and someone that can actually draw.Yes Reigns will win and he should but in the process working with a guy like AJ will more then likely produce a quality match or possibly even a great match. This would also be a good time to turn Reigns fully heel and he could continue to work with more of the so called "Indy" talents like Styles,Zayn,Cesaro,Ambrose,Rollins(once he returns)...ect and obviously at some point a huge money match up and feud with Cena. You have him work as a heel against these men putting on great matches and getting a ton of heat but I am willing to beat in a matter of months fans will start to full come around on Reigns and even as a heel will start getting cheered like crazy ala like his cousin The Rock.

Even though AJ will lose this title match, I love that he's even getting a shot at the title. I wasn't expecting him to be a contender until Summerslam time. I just hope he's given something good after this. I'm not going to be negative about this, I'm going to enjoy what ever we get with AJ as a World Title contender.

No matter how much I'd like to see AJ win, I very much doubt he will. figure this... Reigns is the homegrown WWE guy. Styles is the TNA/independent guy. who is going to go over in a WWE title match? If Styles wins it's like saying TNA talent is equal to WWE talent. and even if it is... I don't believe WWE wants to show it.

Exactly why because this is AJ's first WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity so of course he is going to come up short because he's relatively new to the WWE so of course he is not going to go over but the fact that he is even getting a shot at the title given how much of a newbie he is to WWE is actually a good thing because they could have easily have had Jericho or Cesaro or even Owens for that matter win the match

Ref gets knocked down Bullet club debuts and attacks Roman Bullet club leaves Aj hits Roman with styles clash Ref gets up and makes the count Aj wins I see it going the other way, with Doc and Anderson helping Reigns. They won't turn AJ heel. Unless they put them in a "cool heel" face role like DX. But that seems too daring for current WWE product.

People complain AJ isn't being used right and was jobbed to Chris Jericho. WWE give him a World Title shot. People complain that he's being jobbed to Reigns. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that AJ Styles is getting a WWE Championship match on Pay-Per-View. Soooommmmeeeeeebooooodddyyyyy Geeeettttssssss Iiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttt

It also featured other main eventers and former world champions, but you keep focusing on the negative. And it also featured Triple H whom had been in a program with Reigns for months.. so if you honestly thought Styles was winning then I feel bad for you. Who would have thought he was gonna win that Fatal 4 Way? Not many as earlier it still appeared he was continuing his feud with Jericho. So who thinks he's gonna win the title match? Not many, but we could be proven wrong again.

Even thought AJ Styles in the Main Event & getting a Title Shot is great. I have feeling this is the beginning of Leakee beating EVERY "Indy Darling" clean in several Title Matches. Which would suck because that shouldn't happen. I would kind of enjoy that, but only if Reigns is a cocky bastard.

Even if AJ loses after a hard fought battle it shows WWE has intentions with him. He could be facing Fandango on Superstars, but instead he's in the title picture. Not a shabby place to be this early into his WWE career.

Complaining that Styles is going to be in a title match after three months in? Jesus, most of the people here would be having heart attacks over Austin not winning the title almost two years after KOTR '96.
