Pretty sure they banned Hell's Gates tii, but didn't Taker use that at WM32? That was like 8 years ago within storyline, and hes used it like 1000 times since then.

Why exactly was the curb stomp banned? Why on home video too?

I would love to see someone break out a piledriver or other banned move during a No Holds Barred match, just to prove it's really no holds barred.

Styles used a 450 and a brain buster at mania so yeah. And Balor has been using the 1916 which is basically a brainbuster.

Are you kidding me? I get it's a triangle choke but it isn't even locked in properly when he does it. That's dumb. No it's not banned. Pretty sure it's a gogoplata ?

Why exactly was the curb stomp banned? Why on home video too? The danger of it. Kids try wrestling at home all the time, and any way they try a curb stomp, it's guaranteed to cause a severe head/neck injury to the second kid.

Wasn't Mysterio's west coast pop banned?
I remember him using it at WM22 on Randy Orton (in the Rey/Kurt/Randy match) but never saw Mysterio use it much after this.
it was that frankensteiner type move where they would land on their head, but Rey would turn it into a pinfall.

Oh I didn't know that - I was under the impression WWE banned it due to it being a dangerous move, if Rey's opponent landed slightly wrong, then they'd sustain a broken neck. But I don't know, perhaps your right, maybe it was because of Rey's surgeries?

Sorry to all of you who think you are seeing a Brainbuster in WWE or NXT. According to more sources than I care to count it has banned for a long time. What you are seeing is something else that sort of approximates the look without having the danger of dropping their opponents head squarely on the mat with all their body weight coming straight down which can possibly cause concussions and neck injuries.
I've watched every second of every AJ match in WWE and he has not done a brain buster. Perhaps you mean the suplex onto his knee move he does. That is not a brain buster. The impact is on his opponents neck/shoulder and there is some rotation so that their weight isn't coming straight down.
I can't speak to the others because I haven't seen all, or in some cases any, of their matches but I'm willing to bet they are doing something that just looks sort of like a brain buster but really isn't.

So what you're saying is they're using a much safer more planned out brain buster?

So what you're saying is they're using a much safer more planned out brain buster? Pretty much. The same way the tombstone piledriver looks like a real piledriver but when done properly the victim's head doesn't even hit the mat at all. The move still looks painful as hell but is much safer. It's a good thing the WWE bans these high impact to the head/neck moves like chair shots, brain busters, and piledrivers because the current superstars can't even do a sunset flip or baseball slide without destroying a knee or ankle

Any form of a brain buster. Finn Bálor uses a Brainbuster Variation in NXT as his Finisher & AJ Styles did one against Jericho at Mania.

Pretty sure they banned Hell's Gates tii, but didn't Taker use that at WM32? The Hell's Gate got "banned" in a Storyline. 2008/2009 in Taker's Feud with Edge/Vickie Guerrero(who was the Smackdown GM) Then it got "unbanned" after the Montreal Screwjob X.0 at Breaking Point'09 in the Taker/Punk Feud for the World Title.

I've always hated Billy Kidman for his awful use of the Shooting Star Press.. Easily the worst Shooting Star Press ever performed.. Luckily Evan Bourne came around and showed officials that people CAN do it without risk and potential injury EVERY SINGLE TIME it's done.
Billy Kidman is the reason that SSP was banned for so many years.. It's like the WWE thought "this is the best guy doing it, if he can't safely do it no one can"..
To hell with Billy Kidman.
