I remember reading somewhere that this was supposed to be the year of nWo for Mattel. Well I know Hogan got cancelled, but so far it seems like the only nWo releases we got were RSC Nash and RSC Hall. Are any others on the horizon?
Three, now two, figures don't really scream year of anyone but that's just me.
Maybe I'm jaded because the Year of Luigi was meaningless.

And Hall came out October of last year too. Looking at the upcoming lineups I don't see much coming either

I think the Hogan thing threw a wrench in their plans big time. I believe all Hogan and nwo merch was stopped. The stuff that did come out was probably too far along to stop.

I think the Hogan thing threw a wrench in their plans big time. I believe all Hogan and nwo merch was stopped. The stuff that did come out was probably too far along to stop. Idk. I mean unless they were planning on various Hollywoods, I can't see how losing one guy ruined it'. Nwo merchandise is still on WWEs website. So it's not like they can't produce it. When I heard it was the year of nWo, I assumed more than just hogan, hall and Nash. I expected at least a easy e or bagwell. Something to add to it. |

Doesn't seem like enough to call it the year of nwo.
Also about a year ago they said they would "sting" us, and since we've only gotten one more elite sting and one more elite coming and one basic sting coming. That's not what I call getting stung.

Hogan getting fired blew up the plan. I'm sure whatever year Hogan gets back in the good graces is the year Mattel will do the NWO. Though they have released Hall and Nash so..

They did make the Battlepack of Nash and Hall too. And the elite Nash and elite Hall. So we kind of had a good year for NWO stuff. Those are the two most important NWO guys (along with Hollywood Hogan) so its nothing to sneeze at. I think we did alright this year for NWO stuff.

Now, I'm not trying to be mean here, but losing any "one guy" like a Syxx, Steiner, Bagwell, or anyone of that nature wouldn't ruin anything. Hogan was (sorry Roman) THE guy. Planning a year of merchandise to have high exposure for this group meant every release would be making some mention of the main 3, Hogan, Hall and Nash. The way Hogan was released, overreacting or not, put a halt to all of that. Each themed release would remind everybody what Hogan got in trouble for in the first place, and they'd really like the world to forget it asap. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the rumored plan of the original nWo to be HOF bound this year was legit and had to be scrapped. That said, when Hogan comes back, and he always does, they'll just restart right where they left off. Well, provided Hall and Nash stay in line. |

They said we would be stung with sting figures this year but there really weren't that many. The Hogan firing obviously hurt the nwo thing so that is understandable though I do hope we get a Outsiders 2 pack down the road at least. Other than a buff bagwell, scott steiner, bischoff, nwo liz and wolfpac Sting those are the only other nwo figures I want.

We got a bunch of nWo guys this year. DiBiase HOF3, Savage HOF3, Waltman E41, Rotunda E40, Rude E40, Traylor BofN, Hennig HOF Heenan, Bret E43, Sting RSC, Booker HOF4.
