I should add that there are plenty of people out there, Russo included, who legitimately like Reigns in spite of all things that place him in the predicaments he finds himself being in due to bad booking, some of that burdensome blame surely to be shouldered by the agents not throwing up the red flag on common sense in-ring psychology. I'm just a viewer from afar and overall, I don't mind Reigns. I personally feel a lotta people don't necessarily despise the guy, it's just how he's being utilized. That isn't anything ground-breaking, of course, but I'm just throwing in my proverbial two cents to the ongoing, seemingly never-ending saga of Roman debate, which is reminiscent of a similar occurrence that was born many moons ago & just doesn't come to a close: "Is Joe Flacco a elite quarterback" (sic). That one has even carried over into politics/political primaries & such, and it has become stale & run into the ground at this point, quite frankly. I feel like soon enough Donald Trump will have to be coached on how to answer questions regarding the status of a WWE superstar, much like he had to address the preposterous NFL inquiry.

I'm not even gonna reply to the whole post but the "smark crowd" comment is stupid because it's been every town leading up to and after Mania.. now if you're telling me every city is a smark crowd.. you should just leave. Nobody wants him except for maybe I'd say at best 20% of the WWE "universe"

95% of his hate is unwarranted. IMO. They are LITERALLY editing out the hate. That's why people dislike him. It's all forced.

It's a TV show character. Either you like him or you don't. For as much energy as they put into making him the lead character, so many put as much if not more into hating said character, when there's absolutely nothing you'll achieve by doing so.
Don't like it? Stop watching. Like any other TV show. That's the only way to get change.
*edit* As someone said above me, and IF true, only 20% of the WWE Universe wants Reigns in the position he's in. If the rest of you stop watching, and stop spending money on the company, that 20% is not enough to keep things the same. They'll be forced to make changes.

i just wish they would put 50% of the effort they do into trying to make Reigns the greatest superstar in history, into the rest of the roster they put so much detail and effort into making their fans believe reigns is the best they have ever seen....yet almost everything else in the wwe is 50/50 booked white meat vanilla bread garbage

The creative aspect of WWE has become abysmal, and I don't put that on any performer. I put it on those who have a say in the creative aspect. Lucha Underground has one hour episodes, and breaks for months at a time -- yet is 10x's more exciting, and interesting, because the creatives involved make it so. Everything about WWE, from a creative standpoint, from their top character down, is just so paint-by-numbers, and "going through the motions". I can't hold Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, Dolph Ziggler, or Heath Slater responsible for this. It's the others above them that are at fault, and they do it, because people will continue to tune in every week, and drop their money, and they don't have to expend an ounce of effort.

If Reigns really annoys all you so much then why don't you all save your self the stress and misery and switch off? WWE is fiction but life is reality and there are more important things to worry about other than a fictional character in a kids show. Disliking a wrestling character is fine I have disliked many over the years but Reigns haters seem to get very personal about him which is pathetic because you don't even know the REAL PERSON who plays the character.
Also you talk about Reigns being underserving and boring well let me throw these guys at you.
Sheamus Alberto Del Rio Batista.
I'm sure there are more but those 3 guys received huge underserved pushes IMO.
Sheamus was only around 5 minutes and he was handed the title.
Del Rio couldn't get over but Vince still booked him to win the Royal Rumble months after his debut.
Batista only got lucky because Lesnar left. He was sloppy in the ring and horrible on the mic and never did much in Evolution apart from tagging with Flair and being their muscle. That also didn't stop Vince from randomly pushing him to the moon which was underserving.
Now tell me what separates Reigns from those guys?

I just want to fuel the fire here, and say that Reigns's selling last night was awful.
He no-sold a lot of AJ's offense.
Plus his selling of the Calf Crusher was hilarious.

People are constantly talking about the guy. Bad publicity is still good publicity in a way (unless its criminal). It gets his name out there a lot, probably more than anyone on the roster. I have friends that know nothing about WWE or watches any wrestling at all. But they know who Roman is, That's pretty impressive

Petty and ignorant by WWE. Editing signs AND boos. It's not that they want him to be the guy that's necessarily the issue, it's that they're trying to make it look like we all want him to be the guy in anyway they possibly can. Even if it means taking away the true feelings being voiced by the fans

The fans? A greater portion of the smart mark crowd - yes. They don't want him as the number one guy. But WHO do they want? Aside from the fact that that portion of the crowd often forgets that one is one. Not more than one. There is only room for ONE top guy and no matter who it is, a lot of those same mouths will spew the same BS hatred on them as they do Reigns. His promo work and his ring work can be debated until the cows come home, but it is still a subjective matter. I'm not a fan of his promos but I laugh at people who say he's terrible in the ring, because he isn't. His timing is exceptional, his moves are crisp and he sells intensity. He will only get better over time. And to the people who say "all his good matches is when he's with someone who can carry him" well the same can be said about John Cena and numerous other wrestlers over the course of history. I just get tired of the constant bitching. The guy can never do anything to please certain fans. Besides, WWE has him in this spot. What's he supposed to say? NO? that. He'll take the top spot with an arena full of boos just as any other wrestler in any organization would. Bottom line is, if you hate Reigns, you might as well get used to him being the top guy and accept it. That, or, take a break from watching. Re-charge your batteries. Do something else for the love of God. In case you haven't noticed, there was no #cancelwwenetwork trending after the record setting WrestleMania 32. Nothing after Payback nor anything in between the two shows. That all came from Daniel Bryan not being in and winning the Rumble and all that. It had nothing to do with Reigns. With crowds hi-jacking shows(or trying to) and the amount of ass showing on social media when it comes to Reigns, I don't blame WWE for sticking with who THEY want. The fans are as wishy-washy as they've ever been, so why try to cater to a certain portion of the crowd who turns on people without notice, chants disrespectful things at women, and whatever else they do? I respect WWE for sticking to their guns. Is Reigns my favorite? No. But I'm fine with where they've got him. It's nice to see someone other than Cena, imo. Now I'm sure you guys will have a qoutefest with me telling me how I'm wrong and I'm an idiot and WWE doesn't listen to their fans blah blah blah. Maybe not. It doesn't really matter to me. I just don't get how some of you despise the current product and all the booking and top guy choices but you have no problem getting on the internet daily and expressing your views which shows that you still watch! If you're truly that miserable, why put yourself through it? If you want to show WWE Reigns isn't the guy, stop watching. They don't care how much you bitch and moan just as long as you're watching. Just some food for thought. But misery does love company. Especially on the internet. This is like me ordering a double fish sandwich at McDonalds and them giving me a Big Mac instead. I'm not going to accept it there and I don't have to accept what I don't like from the WWE. They are the only company that piss off their customer base and not care. It's annoying as hell, especially when fans are voicing their displeasure each week.

All 3 have more charisma than Roman Reigns. Alberto Del Rio was a good wrestler in Mexico. Batista is what a pro wrestler should be looking like and the fans got behind him when they wanted somebody to end HHHs reign of terror. He did a good job as the face of Smackdown for 5 years. I do agree that Roman Reigns has been booked to look like an idiot, but his Leaping Clothesline/Superman Punch/Spear moveset is just lame.

It isn't necessarily the fans fault for not having a cohesive idea on who should be the top guy since WWE doesn't seem to be in the business of making stars these days. They're too busy making sure that 99.9% of the roster (that is regularly on TV) is in the mid card. 3. #cancelwwenetwork was always bullshit. No one is canceling the Network. None of those people were ever serious. It's too good of a deal to pass up. Which is unfortunate because a mass exodus of subscribers is probably the only way we'll ever get any real change. 4. While I'm not particularly a fan, saying that John Cena needs to be carried to a good match is being ridiculous.

Alberto del Rio is one of the most over guys on the planet. Look at everything he's done outside of WWE. Dude is huge money. It's not his fault that he's been misused like just about everyone else there.

If you're telling wrestling fans to turn off the show it sounds like you are new to this side of town

Well, considering how ratings and attendance continue to both plummet, I'd say more and more people are taking your advice. To say fans are "wishy-washy" is completely asinine. Dean Ambrose has been insanely over at every show since The Shield split up two years ago, is one of the leading guys in merchandise sales and consistently has the best matches on the card, yet they've completely wasted his talents with pointless mid-card feuds that he loses 99% of the time. So, what's the logic there?
