Yeah, I'd definitely say Shartimusprime & The Fwoosh as well, the latter does some really good Star Wars reviews. TheFwoosh's Kanan Jarrus review alone sold me on the Black Series fig. Great pics as well.

Anyone who said Glenn Webb is right on the money. His reviews go over everything you need. You get in-and-out of package looks at the figure, articulation, comparisons to other figures/older versions of the same character, and humor. All in a good amount of time.
I'd also check out BurnoutInc as well, he does animations as well as reviews, so usually his intro to his review includes stop motion, which is cool.
I'd avoid Shartimus Prime, since he's just going to shill out Large Evil Toy Shop every chance he gets, and tell you how awesome the figure is so that you go and buy it from his link. And I'd stay away from Anthony's Customs as well, unless you want to hear about why everything sucks on the figure you're looking at.
Grim is a character. I agree with some of the people in this thread - seems like a great guy, I've had a brief bit of interaction with him in the past. But I can't get into his videos.
Lastly, my channel has some figure reviews (cheap plug). I usually try to include comparisons, articulation, and try to be informative with my reviews. I'm not a pro, but I get the point across, I think.

Hey all, I've regrown my collection to around 30 figures now, and recently ive been inspired to create a figure review youtube channel. Do you guys have any figure review channels? If so, any tips for me as I start (as in length of video, how to film it, etc.)? Any support/advice would be appreciated!

Don't try to be too ridiculous about jokes or making fun of something bad on the figure. It will waste time, make it seem like too big of a deal, and the comments will say you are copying Grim or something.

If you want to follow someone great...James Rowlfe of Cinemassacre. Watch some of his Angry video game nerd videos. He is a great youtuber. There are many on youtube that suck. For instance..This guy is terrible. There is nothing more horrible in youtube reviews than looking at an ugly man talking about a toy. He is BORING. I'm not even going to start watching this video for the fact that it's 21min long talking about 1 thing. That's just way too much time to talk about a toy.

I was worried that my opinion on Grim would not be shared. Nothing personal against him, but I 've tried many times to watch his videos, and I never make it through more than a minute or so. Somehow, YouTube finds a way to recommend his videos to me and there's no way to block a channel. The worst videos he does is when he records himself at wrestling conventions because it's like he makes a complete mockery of the whole thing by acting like a complete fool. And I go to wrestling conventions and it's people like him that gives wrestling fans a bad name. You don't need to be so animated, nothing wrong with being a nice respectable fan.

Burnoutinc had some Great intro animation before reviewing WWE figures. He didn't do a lot of reviews but the few he had really go me back into collecting WWE elite. That's one way of doing it.

Whatever ya do, if ya go through with this, please don't push it on us / shove it down our throats like the dude with the nasal voice from the other day who proclaimed everything he owned as the "BEST EVER" or some nonsense like that. Also, it'd be an even better idea not to add insult to injury by making a mockery of legitimate, serious issues (i.e. concussions). Couldn't believe that dude's audacity, deeming Enzo Amore "SAWFT"...Not that most even got that far along in the specific video where that astute analysis came from, but I did indeed. Disheartening enough as it was to even watch that deeply into the review of the neon lighting surrounding an entrance stage, plus shelves of figures in a ghetto-looking man cave, but then came that particular, peculiar quip. Needless to say, not only was it unwarranted, but I also found it to be downright repulsive & offensive. Thus, avoiding stuff like that could serve one well, if you do decide to take a crack at it. Best of luck, if so!

If you want to do reviews, then do what Glenn Webb does. Study and follow his format.

He's like "Ohhh this figure is poor quality it sucks, the best figures are SH Figuarts everything else suuuuckkssss"

Tommy's Toy Travels is good. Im not a fan of Grim, he is too brief and not that funny. Grims jokes are old now and I feel like he has too many fanboys who just get on my nerves everytime you criticise him.

I used to make some. Get around 500-1000+ views per video and some are even up to 10,000+. The videos are around 3-5 mins and sometimes longer. I'd say go for it. You got nothing to lose.

That fact that you asked for advice means you want this work and you're willing to learn. My advice would be:
Keep your videos short. IDK why anyone would record a 20 or even 40min video about wrestling figures.
YouTube has great analytic data, use it to your advantage. Most people don't realize this but getting 10k views means absolutely nothing unless people are sticking around until the end of the video. YouTube ranks your videos on a few factors, audience retention, SEO, watch time and finally views.
Create your own format. I see people saying follow Glenn Webs format, that's fine, however create one that you'll enjoy because if you're just copying someone else style, people will notice. Be willing to adapt. I have unboxing videos and I've pretty much switched the style of them from sitting in front of the camera reviewing the item to really showcasing the item in my point of view where you only see my hands. Find your format and what works for your channel.
Have some personality and speak clearly. You don't necessary have to speak while you're opening the item. You can record the footage and then record a voice over later. That way you're precise and your videos wont drag.
I have a young channel and with the help of YouTube's training and the feedback I've gotten from people, my channel has gained over 100 new subscribers in a month. I wish you the best. YouTube is fun. I watch it more than I do traditional tv now.

I don't have a channel, but if you don't mind an opinion from someone that would be watching it. The reviews I've seen is from people who are way over the top and love toys a little too much at their age. The other problem I always see are reviews that are just way too long. I like how The Verge does their electronic reviews, they're around 3-5 mins long, talk about the specs, and briefly give their own opinion on the product. I would recommend doing something like that, close-ups all around the figures, and keep it professional. I really think channels like Grim are ridiculous, not entertaining, and really just embarrassing. YYeah, Grim's sense of humor is nearly Cringeworthy. I can't stand his videos. Nothing against the dude personally but not my cup of tea.

You're almost better off doing it in blog form with well written posts and pictures of the figures since there isn't many people doing anything like that. The YouTube thing has been done, and is currently being done, and that's a tough market to get into. Especially once you realize how hard it is to actually get viewers and subscribers.
