This leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I'm glad he was honest, and it proved what many of us suspected - that they wouldn't let him go back to being himself. I really feel like they lost a guy who would've not only made an amazing champion, but someone with major potential crossover appeal. I don't need many reasons to hate the writers, but as a writer myself I've never felt such an urge to grab them, shake them, and slap them around. The statement made it clear just how little he was valued, especially by Vince and HHH. Considering how much confidence I had in him and how much potential I saw in him, this is a bit of a gut punch, and it's difficult to let this go, but considering how he was treated there was no other way for this to go down. Props to him for keeping it classy, but even more props for busting his ass to change closed minds. I know he's going to prove everyone wrong. As for the lisp, two words: Ric Flair. That ones a little too on the nose, and it's not like I'm wrong, so fixed after you broke it.

Something tells me that one of the reasons that Cody Rhodes wasn't pushed to the top was because Rhodes was "Too Southern." I read that neither Vince McMahon nor Kevin Dunn liked southern accents which may explain why Jim Ross was replaced by Michael Cole while Jerry Lawler had his role reduced. Thoughts? I don't think it has anything to do with being "Too Southern." I just think it's the fact that Vince never had any respect for Dusty or his sons. Dusty was made out to be a complete joke when he came to the WWF originally, and the Goldust gimmick - much like a lot of the gimmicks they gave Cody - was never supposed to get over as big as it did. Dustin was just so committed to the character that he made it work and turned it into a pretty big long-term success. Cody tried to do that with Stardust and they just didn't want him to succeed in that role. The whole feud between him and Goldust with the "Cody is dead" storyline had a chance to really make the Stardust character into something big, and instead they blew off the feud after one month. Stardust was never supposed to be anything than a comedic relief character no matter how much Cody tried to make it work and get over. True. You get a dancing fat guy in polka dots, a gender neutral something-or-other, and a cosmic oddity...and those are off-the-wall silly Saturday morning cartoon characters in any other hands. But all three Rhodes men got those gimmicks over. If that's not a testament to how good they are, I don't know what is.

Cody didn't have a southern accent at all. AJ Styles is from Georgia too, and he has a thick southern accent. Cody is very well spoken and has almost no distinguishable accent.

they never really did a proper stardust/goldust wrestlemania feud...just hinted at it at royal rumbles and then that small survivor series feud.
the rhodes brothers vs shield battleground feud was awesome. probably the most memorable feud for them.

Guess who entered at #14 (perhaps the most cursed number in Royal Rumble history?) in this year's Royal Rumble? Yep, it was Cody Rhodes.

Sucks, so many wasted opportunities that the WWE is missing out on. Cody could have been a legit contender, feels like they really could have used him, especially now.
But WWE creative had nothing for him? Even with him coming up with his own ideas, they don't listen... WWE has been so boring, wish they could have implemented Cody back into the show, WWE's loss.

Not overly surprised Eden is leaving. Thought they would have made a great on screen duo though.

WWE just acknowledged on Twitter that they took Eden's request to be released. Looks like Kevin Owens will need another signature announcer.

She is clearly standing by her man. Gotta give her credit for that.

She wasn't too big of a deal. Can we get a JoJo push now?
