Man, 17 years already. Wow, where does the time go?
I wish I could've met him while he was here but it never worked that way. I did see him wrestle a few times and one of my favorite memories of him was at Breakdown In Your House in his match with Edge.
I loved it when he came out wearing the Toronto Argonauts jersey. That still makes me laugh when I see that.
I was 4th row ringside that night.
I was also supposed to attend another WWF event on May 28th 1999 at Copps Coliseum but that whole week of events was canceled due to his death.
I still have the 2 uncut tickets for that event in my possession.
Owen Hart was truly classic in every sense.
His memory will live on for a long time to come.

Best of all the Harts.
Bret was an amazing wrestler but had the charisma of a Lego.
Owen had it all. Amazing wrestler, good promo, charismatic, and more versatile. His match with Bret at Wrestlemania X is in my top 10 of all time. One of the greatest wrestlers ever and he deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame yesterday, but I understand why he isn't in yet.
RIP Owen. Enough is enough, and it's time for a change.

The memory of watching that PPV will live with me forever.
I've told this story a hundred times, so forgive me.... I named my son Owen after Owen Hart. Exactly for the same reason Kevin Owens did (I did it first). As much as I was already a fan, I was moved hearing how beloved he was from all of his co-workers and friends. Never heard a bad thing said about him. Hearing how funny and respected he was, I knew I wanted my son to be the same type of man someday. That's why I used the name Owen.

I remember my friends told me in school that Owen had died and I didn't believe them. Then when I got home I watched Over the edge and the whole thing was surreal. He was my favourite Hart and I actually cried when Jr announced his death.

Owen Hart should have been main eventing in the attitude era along Stone Cold, Rock, HHH, Mankind, Taker, & Kane. Owen had World Champion written all over him.

I discovered Owen properly when I got back into wrestling a few years ago & Bret's book really made me get into Owen's ring work. Watching his stuff still holds up, his pacing was perfect & he was definitely more of a natural than Bret IMO. He could talk, work in the ring with nearly everyone, and he didn't really have a bad ego, he always seemed to see the fun side of things especially with his ribs.
Making history with being the first wrestler outside of Japan to win a title in that country was a huge stepping stone for wrestling & I feel like Owen was like the evolution on what Dynamite Kid was. If I ever have a son, I'd call him Owen after him too.
