Hi, im new to the forum...I have about 200 figures now, mattel and jakks. I used to have 500 about 10 years ago but I needed to sell them all to put down a security deposit and 1st month rent down on an apartment and needed the money (depressing time). anywho...I'm building back up my collection and just wondering how long we are going to have to wait for a mattel AJ Styles figure.

Typically about 1 year from start until they are on shelves - if rushed 8 months. My best guess is he'll be out early/mid December.

He debuted at Rumble so guessing we should have a prototype at SDCC with a release towards end of year

I would hazard a guess and say later part of this year, maybe E46/E47! It usually takes 12 months under "normal" conditions for a superstar to début and then be released to retail. A simple rule of thumb would be, E43 is released early June, we tend to get a months break so E44 August, E45 October and then E46 December. As with anything this is purely a guide, things do change all the time with Mattel and WWE.

Mattel was able to get the Elite 19 Brock Lesnar out in time for Christmas after he returned in April, so we should have an AJ Styles Mattel figure, Basic or Elite, by late-December. It will most likely be in his Royal Rumble attire that he wore up until Fastlane.

I'm guessing basic first and Elite second... really hoping that if I'm right that they're not the exact same attires. Basic will probably be black with the blue without the vest and Elite will probably black with the blue but with the black vest.

I would guess October for RSC preorder and December for the retail crowd. I don't think he needs much besides a new head and hooded vest, and deco all over. Maybe for the profile pics on the sides of the box, they can put a confused Roman(or not).

Really hoping for soft material for the vest to have the option to display with hood up or down. But guessing we're gonna get something like E40 Tyson but remolded since will not need the extra space for headphones. If not that then a repainted E36 Ambrose hooded vest. I wouldn't be mad if they included both plastic hooded vests over soft material.

I bet we have an elite Styles by Christmas. This. Mattel should capitalize, it would sell like hot cakes! I'm thinking we see some kind of proto at SDCC.

Doesn't matter mattel wont make a figure as good as any of his tna figures spanning two companies. Anyone whos an aj fan already has a few, i must have ten. Toybiz did a phenomenonal job and jakks did good as well. Im much more looking forward to the ftc version with the bizcliz.

Bill said he was gonna try to get him out by the end of the year.
My most wanted figure, other than Nakamura.

Mattel should have scanned him and had the figure in the works BEFORE the Royal Rumble, as in- as soon as he signed his contract and before the ink on it even dried. Kids (not just collectors like us) probably would go crazy for an AJ Styles figure being in stores right now and that's just money on the table for Mattel. Bill said he hopes to have an Elite out by Christmas time though, so here's to thinking that could become true.
