Yes and it's weird that randy savage never gets tall boots, I might have bought a basic of his or two just to have as is but the boot thing killed it for me and it seems that his basic was pretty tall as well wasn't it

Hmm not sure if I'll pick this up. It's very seldom pick up basics and when I do its only of legends and I keep them MOC. There is no way I'm keeping this one MOC with that ugly card.

Sting shouldn't be that much taller than savage anyways no? Why not just paint the l.o.d black boots green? Sting is listed as 6'3" and Randy was listed as 6'1" |

That custom has a far better torso than the DM if you ask me. I do love that crazy neon on this figure. May we have many many more Surfer Stings, enough to rival Ultimate Warrior's staggering number of releases.

The only trouble is, if they keep messing the Sting figures up and getting them so wrong, people aren't going to buy them, and if people don't buy them, they won't make them. Looking at the Sting/Macho picture and comparing it to some actual pictures of the two standing next to each other (obviously a dicey proposition with real pics as it's tough to account for slouching, angle, environment etc) the scale of the basic looks closer to correct than that of the Elite to my eye. I guess it begs the question would we rather every figure of a wrestler be in scale of the first was incorrect to begin with? Or sacrifice that uniformity for a more accurate representation.
Also FWIW, I think the basic looks miles better than the elite even in these pics.

PJ or BandaleroI also noticed the short Sting. Hope it's something that won't become a trend for all Basic Sting figures. With a paintless Sting fixup, what black toghts would work, heightwise, with those green boots?

LOD Hawk with Pillmen or the Network Triple H calves. But you do have to hollow out a little of the boot to fit the Elite calves into them properly.
In the fixup thread I posted a pic where I went with Christian calves (repainted) on my Macho figure.

I keep looking at my Ultimate Warrior and the faces just look so similar to this sting. It really does look like they used the Warrior scan.
