Thats cause the people running the promotion are a bunch of money marks who mark out when they can get former WWE guys who were recently released or they can guys from TNA. I get why they get these guys, they want them to get attention to the promotion. Im glad no one they brought in from WWE or TNA were given titles. |

The only WCPW I've been seeing is on Botchamania...looks decent though.
Interesting that they got Corny and JR on commentary.

Okay it's been a while since I've seen WCPW and I just got caught up, and I can say they're actually getting better. Infact the story lines have gotten progressively better, WCPW Refuse to Lose was WCPW's first IPPV so i guess i should review the whole show since it wasn't a typical YouTube Special Expect this review to be Kevstaaa lite.
WCPW Refuse to Lose
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UKTonight's show has Jim Cornette, Jim Ross, and Alex Shane (Better than King Ross, Simon Miller's slightly okay though) on Commentary, and will feature the In-Ring Debut of Adam Blampied.
First We get a Bret Hart Promo basically telling us that we would have the First WCPW Tag Team Champions Crowned tonight, that didn't happen due to Time Constraints (Source: King Ross) then Prospect came out, then James R. Kennedy (One of the best Heel Managers's in recent memory) cut a promo, then Prospect looked like they were about to attack when Slater And Moss, Gabriel Kidd, and I think Mustache Mountain came in for the save, you can just skip over this part.
Minoru Suzuki w/ El Desperado Def. Joe Coffey (10:36)*We start off with a hard hitting bout to open, this is the WCPW Debut of Minoru Suzuki, The Commentary said that this was a "NOAH" rules match, which is untrue because WCPW lifted the ban of the piledriver while in NOAH, i believe the Piledriver is banned, Nice little brawl of a match, El Desperado cheating at Ringside everytime Joe Coffey left the ring, I felt the Crowd were getting into Suzuki's style as the match progressed the more they got into him, Coffey will always be a fan favorite Iron Man chants and all, Match ends with the Cradle Piledriver, nice and delayed very scrumptious piledriver. Rating: ***; very decent contest, this is the 2nd Suzuki Match I've seen since WK 9, both did great.
WCPW Internet Title Three Way Match
El Ligero defeats Alberto El Patron and Travis Banks (7:36)
* Wow This was only 7 Minutes? Felt like Four, Patron was Replacing Jay Lethal who was in Japan, and Banks was added in due to persuading WCPW GM Adam Pacitti. During the Entrances Cornette and JR did "you're so old" jokes which is..fine i guess, anyway Match Starts right off the bat, this was a very enjoyable match, Banks got his stuff in, Patron botched some of his spots, Ligero was great as always. Banks hit a very nice Corner Springboard Enziguri, Ligero won, which was great.
Rating: **1/2 Okay but it could've been better, Banks actually surprised me, he's shown me potential, Decent but just kinda filler.
Cody Rhodes defeats Doug Williams (9:05)
*Nice promo package This match was supposed to be Noam Dar (May he walk the Champagne Supernovas) vs Rhodes but Dar and Williams had match where if Williams won he got to face Cody and if Dar lost he was banned from WCPW, so going into this match, I had an open mind, Cody got a big pop, he did the Spot with the ropes from PWG BOLA, and hit the Cross Rhodes.
Rating: ** Average, Passable nothing more to say.
Street Fight
Rampage defeats Adam Blampied (9:19)*I know people say WCPW is nothing but Smarks trying to get over, but I'll be damned if I didn't say that Adam Blampied is one of the most charismatic Heels in recent History, I legitimately hate this guy, but at the same time he's a ruddy great heel. So there's a promo package for this match because at Built to Destroy Blampied cost Rampage by turning to Big Damo, Now incensed with rage, Rampage wants Revenge, the promo also shows both Blampied and Rampage training, Rampage is kicking ass and taking names in his part, meanwhile with Blampied he's training with 1 Pound weights, pushing a tiny little tire, just great, So Blampied comes out first, and he's wearing a suit, he's also got a briefcase, then he cuts a promo about how he's the greatest and want's to work a deal with Rampage by bribing him 50 Euro i believe, and then Rampage starts chopping the CHIT outta Blampied's chest, and after a few more chops, out comes Prospect and they take out Rampage but Rampage fights back and then out comes BIG DAMO! Big Damo's dates aren't over yet as he pounds away on Rampage and then he does the BIG BOY SENTTTTTTOOOOOOOONN to Rampage, and then Prospect hold Rampage down as a chair is on Rampage's back and then Damo hits another BIG BOY SENTON on the chair It's unbelievable then out comes Slater and Moss, Mustache Mountain, and Gabriel Kidd to save the day! after everyone clears house Blampied hits Rampage with a Singapore cane and continuously does so, then Rampage grabs the stick and hits Blampied with it, Mind you Blampied is still in suit and it's very ripped, then Rampage sets up a table and Cornette is pissed about it. And Rampage trys to go for a Powerbomb, Blampied slips a little but Rampage gets him down there through the Table and gets the pinfallRating: **1/4, I know I know, it's not really a fair fight, but I really Enjoyed this, I thought it was good but the critic in me says, "Meh" this was entertaining either way.WCPW Women's Title Match
Nixon Newell (c) defeats Kimber Lee (6:54)*(sighs) I love Kimber Lee, She's a really great wrestler, And Nixon Newell is great, but this match could've been oh so much better, It was average but the finish was botched because it's really hard to do a Canadian Destroyer I GET IT, but this is the 2nd time Nixon Newell has botched it, I think she should stick to a Tiger Suplex, it's pretty damn skippable Rating: DUD, These girls could've done soo much better, but it was short and the ending was botched.WCPW World Title Match
Joseph Conners (c) defeats Martin Kirby (23:54)*JUSTICE FOR KIRBY!, JUSTICE FOR KIRBY!, JUSTICE FOR KIRBY!, Everyone in that building wanted Martin Kirby to go on top. We get another Promo Package showing us why this match is happening Martin Kirby has been on an Undefeated streak for the past Two Months, Beating Will Osprey in an upset then he Beat Osprey, Marty Scurll, Travis Banks, and "Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne, then beating Pete Dunne again, but due to not being satisfied with his role, takes the show hostage with "Kirby-Oke", and wearing Furry Lovecuffs to a ring rope, and after interfering in a Ligero vs Banks match by giving Banks the win (Which is why Banks was added to the Internet Title match) and the Mr. Adam Pacitti came out and gave Kirby his match against Conners, and Joseph Conners has been a destructive force in WCPW, Conners won the belt against Big Damo, Rampage, and Joe Hendry at WCPW Stacked by turning his back on "The Local Hero", when he claimed his newly won gold he had a..well new expression, this was the best match of the night Kirby was Over and everyone hated Conners, this was the night, there was some nice chain wrestling at the start, Kirby hit a Sling-blade which was well executed, Conners hit his great slingshot DDT, Kirby's suicide dives are always sick to watch and the one he did was super sick, Conners attempts a move but knocks the ref over then Kirby takes advantage by Low Blowing Conners and gives him the Sable Bomb but the ref is still knocked down, Kirby heads towards the ropes to finally hit the move that has alluded him: THE ZOIDBERG ELBOW. Kirby does the walk but then gets pushed down by none other then Adam Parmesan I mean Pacitti and then Conners stands up and turns Kirby to do the "The Righteous Kill" DDT, and gets the victory, #JUSTICEFORKIRBY
Rating: ****, MOTN these two worked super hard, crowd was into it, I was into it, really good match.
*This is your main event of the Evening, it was pretty short, if only that Bret Hart Segment didn't last 10 hours. Hey lookie another Promo Package, It shows that would be the 3rd Year Anniversary of Joe Hendry (LOCAL HERO, sorry had to.) wrestling, and he gets to fight one of his favorite wrestlers, on how he was inspired by Angle, on why he's training for the Common Wealth Games, great package, Hendry comes out to a Parody of Born and Raised in the USA, Kurt Angle then comes out..the wrong way, instead of going to the side he tries to go through the WhatCultureTron (™Daniel Demented 2016), we start off with great Mat Wrestling, Hendry actually keeps Angle down for most of the beginning, the Hendry does some uppercuts, then Angle goes for triple rolling German Suplexes then Hendry fights back with more Uppercuts and trys to go to the top rope, but then Angle hits a Super Angle Slam from the Top, Angle pins Hendry 1 2 - NO Hendry Kicks out! Angle then attempts an Ankle Lock, but Hendry reverse's it into the Freak Of Nature (Fallaway Slam) Angle kicks out at 2 then Hendry goes for an Ankle Lock of his own, Angles in there for a good Minute, but grabs the rope, then Hendry puts Angle at the top and hits a Super Freak of Nature from the middle, only a 2 count, then Angle Reveres an Angle Slam done by Hendry and Locks in an Ankle Lock Hendry has to tap. After the match Kurt endorse Joe after saying "You were one of the few people to take me to the ground and for that I have all the respect for you."
Rating: ***1/4 really short, great mat wrestling Joe Hendry you were great, my friend, I see big things in for Joe Hendry (LOCAL HERO) sorry that's the last time i do that.
Overall: 7/10, This was definitely a night of good wrestling, One of the problems this show had was time, and maybe that Nixon Newell should not do Canadian Destroyers anymore. Rhodes vs Williams was kinda bland, I hope Angle vs Rhodes at True Legacy is a barn burner. JUSTICE FOR KIRBY! JUSTICE FOR KIRBY! okay I'll stop, Good Show, best WCPW has done.

Pacitti got fired thank god. Storyline in promotion or he really got fired from WhatCulture? Either way, thank god Pacitti is not in WCPW. I'll be honest, Adam Pacitti has been the reason i stopped following WCPW. He looks so out of place as an Authority figure. At least Adam Biampied, I was entertained by him. Pacitti was annoying, but in the Go Away type, not tge Oh, he's doing a great job as a heel that i want to see him get his ass kicked. I hope they don't bring the guy back cause their product wrestling wise seems good, Im a big fan of Joe Hendry. I like that Galloway is the champion. Perfect guy to bring the company around. I never bought Conners as a main event guy, but he grew on me as the champion though. |
