I don't know why girls are so stupid that they think they can get completely wasted and that nothing bad can come from it.
It certainly doesn't mean it's okay for some creep to come along and rape her - that's completely unacceptable and immoral and sick.
But I don't run through bad neighborhoods holding hundred dollar bills in the air.
I do think we need to punish rapists more and way too many guys get off with light sentences for nasty crimes. Rape is a real violation of a person - all crimes leave you feeling violated, and it feels like crap, I can't imagine how being raped must feel.
But at the same time, don't go get wasted and pass out around horny creepy guys, for the love of Pete!

This is just the world we live in now. Everything is about sex and and drugs and no one cares anymore and no one is punished properly for anything which means the issue will never be solved. Remember when the world was atleast a decent place? Yeah I miss that. No, well-to-do WHITE people don't get punished for anything. If this guy was black or Hispanic that "judge" would have nailed his ass to the wall. He would have done a minimum of 5-10 years and would have to register as a sex offender when he came home. And this is coming from a middle class white guy. |

One of the most prolific pedofiles in history was just sentenced to only 25 years here. He molested literally hundreds of children. It's appalling how lenient sex crime sentences are. Then again, in the UK, killing someone isn't a life sentence, you may get 10 years or so. Yeah I don't understand how (or why) European laws are not stiffer for murderers. Iirc the EVIL as  dude who did that island shooting in Norway 5 years or so got like 20 years total for all of those murders. At least there was some loop hole where they can keep the murderer if they don't feel they are rehabilitated but it seems they let most of them out. I just feel that it is some BS that someone can murder someone and only get like 10-20 years. Anders Brevik will never be released from prison. |

How do we know that this guy didn't get her super drunk at a party so he could rape her? We don't have ask the facts but we do know two things: this woman is a victim and this guy (I refuse to call him a man) is an unapologetic rapist. |

I really can't believe the justice system in this country. If I was that boys father I'd have his ass locked up for good, he ruined some girls life now he needs to be raped and see how it feels. i think that this young man clearly deserved a more severe punishment, but wishing rape on ANYONE is just really ed up. and i see it time and time again with people talking about people in jail, like it's just so great to consider that a man (criminal or not) is going to be sexually abused and molested. that is a form of torture - not rehabilitation. clean up your jailing institutions, make the prevalence of male sexual abuse and violence less of a threat (it's supposed to be a controlled are), and then there would be far less argument to keeping a guy under 25 outta there. wishing rape upon a rapist is not okay. agreed. |

Sure, of course it happens. But in this case? No. The coward was caught ing her behind a dumpster while she was unconscious and then legged it when he was caught. That's not "oh, we were just hooking up". She was un- ing-conscious and he knew he had been caught. Can we seriously get any judge to challenge this er so he can lose and get the boot?! I am so annoyed that no judge is even trying to get his job. If they were smart they would apply because it is pretty much a slam dunk secure job for 10 years (iirc that is the term limit for CA judges). |

The fact that, after listening to this girl read her statement aloud, the judge came to the conclusion that he did, makes the whole thing all the more sickening.
EDIT: I just now read the father's plea to the judge. I almost couldn't get through it I was so disgusted. His son's plight in this matter amounts to his inability to consume the copious amounts of food he used to prior to brutally assaulting a woman? Excellent.
