Kishin Liger. Kishin Liger is a very different aspect of Jushin Thunder Liger's personality that only comes out to play on extremely rare occasions; 3, to be exact. He is the total opposite of the respectful wrestler that Liger usually carries himself as. He spits mist, violently attacks his opponents, and looks totally different, too. He also wears a totally different attire and is 100% different from Jushin Liger. The character of Kishin Liger debuted in 1996 against The Great Muta. Muta ripped Liger's mask off during the match, and underneath was a white painted face with black trim. Liger became possessed, and totally changed the style he wrestled with and how he acted. Usage of the Kishin character was saved for extremely rare occasions, for when it was absolutely necessary. Obviously, the Demon would have to be used more often for Finn since it's the coolest aspect of his character, but it doesn't have to be used at every TakeOver, and when it does, Finn should totally change who he is. It's rarely used and adds a ton of cool aura to Liger. If they used the Demon like this, and made it seem like he was actually possessed and had really changed who he was and how he acted just for that match, it would be so much cooler.

I agree his Demon thing is overdone now that he keeps using it in almost every NXT title match. He should tone it down and use it on very very rare occasions. Also last night was the first time Demon Balor lost.

Yeah I think using the paint more sparingly would help keep the gimmick fresh. I also think a different (more brutal) finisher when he's the demon would be a good idea.
Many moons ago I said in the NXT thread, that the Demon should spit red mist out too. I still think that would be bad-ass.

I think its fine. Didnt he always wear paint in the Indys? This is how they made it special. I mean I guess they could take it farther, but theyve done a good job with it

They are gonna use it for most specials because they are getting to market the crap out of it. And once he gets to the main roster, it will be more so.

I also agree that the Demon comes out too much. However, you can plainly tell this is for marketing reasons and increasing the bottom line. Shame that creativity has to be sacrificed for dollars....but so goes the publically traded company.

I do wish he changed more with paint. I also wish he'd change it up more depending on the match. His indie designs where awesome. I know he probably can't paint himself like a lot of that because of license reasons (although Rey did it at manias) but more variety would be nice.

They've completely killed the demon character for me.
Even Finn says that he becomes a different creature when he's the "Demon"..........Well I'm sorry Finn but you've seemed EXACTLY the same everytime you're the "Demon".
Regular Balor in my eyes acts like Demon Balor only he's shy........seriously.
I still love him but this could be so much bigger...

The Demon is marketable and big, big money so when Balor joins the main roster Vince will want him painted as much as possible. ATM he's like an attraction for the Takeover events and a friend of mine bought a ticket just to see Demon Balor.
I will say though that if he is painted more he needs to change it. He had some awesome paint in the indies and I know a lot of it is copywrite but he could atleast do something that looks similar.
I also honestly believe that the Demon needs character. ATM he's just Balor in paint it's similar to Mankind in 1999 because he was just Foley in a mask. Balor as the Demon needs to be sadistic, brutal and scare the crap out of people. They could've done a split personality disorder storyline with him but sadly it was done with Kane.

I think of it as the more Demon Balor appears the more potential for amazing figures we have. Also it just won't be overdone for me.

The entire point of "The Demon" is a way to make Finn more colorful and appealing to kids. If they were to turn that into an entirely different heel persona of his, it would defeat the purpose. I personally have no problem with him only using the paint on Takeovers/PPVs going forward. I just wish they would mix up the variety of the paint a little more.

I don't think the Demon is overdone. It's only a handful of times a year. We're in June and he's only been the Demon twice, at Dallas in April and last night. You figure whether he's at NXT Brooklyn or Summerslam in August, that will be the next time. Then who knows after that. How often would he wear the paint in Japan?

The fact that Demon Balor lost last night to Joe just makes Demon Balor lose all credibility.
If they were gonna have Demon Balor lose, they should have just done it at NXT Takeover: Dallas during Wrestlemania weekend. I thought the whole point of him losing to Joe at the live event was so Joe could be Balor without him being the demon.
I can only imagine how many times we will see the Demon Balor character once he gets called up to the main roster.

I just want him to be different when in the paint. Have him be more aggressive, more cunning, just something different. He showed a bit against Adrian Neville last year in the paint when he stalked him by crawling around the ring. Other than that, he's pretty much the same, just with paint.

I'd love for someone to pull his balor face off and him to have the demon painted under it.
That'd be awesome.

What were the other examples of Kishin Liger (kushin?) making an appearance? vs Bad Boy Hido in 2006 and Suzukigun in 2012

I don't think it's too overdone now, though when he moves up, seeing it every month will be extreme.
It would be nice if it was used when a feud boiled over and he needed that extra boost to end it. Of course main roster feuds rarely get that feel to them, so I guess that's a hard one to judge.
