Is the figure worth it? I've been wanting to scratch that early WCW itch. I've been looking at the figure, and I'm unsure. One review I heard was glowing, the other was scathing. The face is great, but his chest is a little large. The big thing is the jacket. It looks nice but I've never liked rubber jackets. They don't give you and freedom to move the arms, the wrists can easily get stuck, it's a pain to get the arms in there, and they tear after a while (at least they did on my Bret, may be different because of the arm positions). The obvious solution is to get the basic! It's cheaper. but I've never been satisfied with the basic leg articulation as they can't perform moves like a super kick or be on the receiving end of a Finger 4, Sharpshooter/Scorpion Death Lock, or others I'm forgetting. I also found the GAB Sting on eBay for the same price as a basic, but they could be bootleg. My question is is the figure worth it?
PS, I don't do customs. I'm too scared I'll break the figure and my painting is absolutely terrible.

I love it. Sting is also my 2nd favorite wrestler of all time so I will like anything made of him basically. I say get him for sure.

I love it and it looks great standing on my shelves. As long as it is the lace-less boots I think it is worth it. Although my shelves need a thorough dusting. Hopefully I will do it this week when I finally rearrange them. Besides the GAB Sting, Network HBK and Triple H I haven't put any figures on the shelf since Christmas. Still waiting to get put on the shelf are... The Heenan Family 4-Pack E38 Macho/APA, E39 Bulldog/Sid E40 Rude/IRS E41 Funk E42 Nasty Boys E43 Hart Foundation HOF Series 3 RSC Jericho RSC Nash B(?) Mr Wonderful B62 Sting Custom Starrcade '90 elite Sting

Do you like Sting? Yes? Buy him.
Do you like Sting? No? Pass, it's a mediocre figure with a bad scan.

Cool Figure but the damn rubber jacket kills these figures man ! So tough to get the damn thing off without breaking the figure or ripping the jacket in half

It's an OK figure. Nothing crazy. I personally thought it could be a regular Elite but whatever. I'm still trying to find the kick pads version

PJ Did you do something to your GAB Sting jacket? The arms are angled down a lot more than mine. My GAB Sting looks like he is trying to fly away while yours not so much.

I'll be getting for sure. The only thing that bothers me is the sleeves look too loose on the jacket

It's a decent figure for a standard Elite/Flashback, but for a DM figure it seems a bit... lacking (would it have killed the budget to include the WHC belt?). I'll definitely be getting it, but I'm still not that keen on the scan... I know the look MDT was going for - but it doesn't really work.

I just put his arms down as far as possible. They stayed like that for a couple days but then started rising back up...so I put one of those clear rubber bands they pack holding the figures on his wrist to hold his arms down. Now they stay like that.

If the boots are laced then that is an easy pass. At $25, I don't think the one with correct boots are worth it at that price. Under $20 is the price point I am waiting for to pick up one with the correct boots.

I did and it looked horrible. It was to large and bulky. And the stripes on the sleeve were running horizontal instead of vertical. The Mattel jacket looks 100x better. You can see it in this thread... forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/334378/years-worth-wait-thank-bill

I love Sting but I'll be waiting for a better version of him. Just too many things wrong with this one for me to invest in fixing. Bad parts choices, bad head sculpt, rubber jacket, no thanks. I just hope to see a better head for him at SDCC.

I'd probably buy it on clearance for 10 if any stores still have them at that point. The attire is great, but it's like I said before, it's a Flashback calibre release. It's no more intricate than Bulldog, who at least can be displayed without his arms at their sides. I still think the face is just awful. I jumped on the first DM Sting, but this isn't very good comparatively. For me then, the answer is no, not worth it.

I think it is an ok figure, but I am definitely going to pick one up.
So far there appears to be only one case that has shown up in my area, and it was a laces version. Are these still kind of hard to find in retail?

It looks much better in person. Even the scan looks better in person. Pics just don't do it justice. I took the jacket off and just added a belt. The ready to take off look was annoying. Plus I rarely ever keep jackets on anyway. My biggest problem are the thin legs. Hopefully that will be fixed later by Mattel like they did with Animal. I never found the laceless boots version at the store yet. I probably never will as it's become a shelf warmer at this point. I'll probably go online to get that version down the road, but for now I'm happy with the incorrect boots one.
