So 3-man groups aren't a new thing in wrestling (check my avatar). The Freebirds invented the "Freebird Rule", NWA/WCW recognized the World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, heck we're seeing 3-man group feuds regularly on WWE television. But which group sets the standard? Which group had the most impact? Demolition and Team Angle were highly decorated but the Shield made the WWE Universe take notice, The Brood and the Wyatts are surreal and 3 Count and 3MB ended up being supporting comedic acts on the card.
Yes the nWo and DX's core members each are three, but I left them out because I feel they are more famous for being large factions. And by the very definition I couldn't include groups like the 4 Horsemen, Evolution or Fortune becuase they were at least 4 present.
My hope is that we have fun with this and please if I left any 3-man group out, shout it out loud! In the spirit of things, you get to vote 3 times!

In order my top 5 are...
1. Freebirds 2. Ivan, Nikita, Krusher 3. Von Erichs (although the team of Kerry/Kevin/David could easily be #2 also, but not Kerry/Kevin/Mike) 4. Dusty and the Road Warriors 5. Varsity Club
Any modern team like The Shield, 3MB, Wyatt's, New Day, the Club haven't been around or together long enough to be considered the greatest in my book.

The Shield was great and eventually lead to all three members main eventers, which is why I choose them.

The Freebirds! Everybody else is a pale imitation of them.
Technically, do the Von Erichs count as a trio? Weren't there like 5 Von Erich kids in WCCW as well as dear old dad?

True, but usually it was David, Kerry and Kevin or Kerry, Kevin and Mike Chris was too little and even when Fritz came in the picture it was with Kerry and Kevin - so all trios. totally forgot about the Guerreros

I understand not being able to put the 4 Horsemen in, but cmon...you could have thrown a bone to Flair-Anderson-Roma....it was just 3 of them.

There's a special place in my heart for 3MB, but I can't choose them. A lot of these teams were before my time watching. I went Shield.

The Triple Threat for me! Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido! That's my pick!
I like The Shield as much as the next guy, but by no means should they be winning this poll. Just goes to show that way too many young fans have never watched older stuff to appreciate how good such teams as The Russians, The Varsity Club or the Freebirds were.

Get up on your feet! Put your hands together! Sing along with 3 Count! We'll party on forever!
Yeah, that's right.

I really don't understand how the Shield can be winning this. I mean other than their feud vs the reassembled Evolution what did they do as a 3-man team to even consider them in the running for the greatest 3-Man team? Let alone winning it? I am sorry but I just don't see how three guys that were together for maybe two years and only had 1 real feud vs a legitimate 3-man team (maybe two with the Wyatt's) can be considered the greatest of all time when the Freebirds made a career out of it. It just doesn't make sense.

I can't believe The Shield is winning. They were good, but they've not really stood the test of time.
There are a ton of great trios that are not listed here.
The Original nWo (Hogan, Hall & Nash) The Jersey Triad (DDP, Kanyon & Bam Bam) The Triple Threat (Shane Douglas, Candito & Bam Bam) Los Villanos Triple X (Chris Daniels, Elix Skipper and Low Ki) Ultimate Warrior and LOD Los Misioneros de la Muerte Jumbo Tsuruta, Akira Taue & Masanobu Fuchi Toshiaki Kawada, Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi Sgt. Slaughter, Gen. Adnan & Col. Mustafa
I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of teams out too.
I picked The Freebirds, Dusty and The Road Warriors and The Russians.
All time top five for me would be:
The Freebirds Hogan, Hall & Nash Los Misioneros de la Muerte Toshiaki Kawada, Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi The Russians

Freebirds The Shield New Day
...got my votes. I originally was gonna vote for Demolition but to be fair, Crush really didn't add much to the group. Also wanted to vote for the Brood, but they really didn't last long.
