The Shield, cuz they all became WWE champions. If that is your criteria (they all became WWE Champions after) for the greatest 3-Man team then clearly the greatest 3-Man team should be Orton, Sheamus and Big Show because They are all multi-time WWE Champions. Singles career should have nothing to do with a poll asking what the greatest 3-Mam team is. And what the Shield did in their 1 1/2 - 2 years as a team pale in comparison to what the Freebirds, von Erichs, Russians, Varsity Club did as three man teams. Even the LoD with Dusty was a more decorated team than the Shield.

The Shield.
And not because of a "millennial mentality".

top 5:
3MB: they were the funniest trio team we've had since the conception, yeah it killed any momentum that Drew McIntyre had but the same can literally be said for The New Day (cough)Kofi,Woods, and Big E(cough). Not to mention there theme was the best
The Shield: outside the aspect of feuds, they've gotten established as a badass trio that takes no craps from anybody; which is pretty rare from WWE (see: Nexus, Corre, etc.) that and it elevated them, while at a pace, to main-event stardom
The Freebirds: can't get anymore classic then this, as others said, they've made a career of being the 3 man tag team. Especially ushering in the Freebird's rule for the tag titles
Von Erichs: same as above, except the Freebirds rule
The Brood: Gave us Edge and Christian, what more info do you need?

Heck they were undefeated for a year and had more success afterwards than anybody. Orton, Sheamus and Big Show weren't really a faction or group, so you can't call them a team.

But other than Evolution and the Wyatt's they didn't wrestle any real three man factions. Hell 90% of the times they didn't even wrestle legitimate tag teams because the WWE hasn't had a real tag team division in years.

I can't correctly pick the greatest but the Brood is my favorite out of all the teams.
I could never stand any of the Von Erich's.

I loved watching Kerry, Kevin and David whenever there was that rare occasions I was in an that covered their market. But until VHS and things like WWE 24/7 it was mainly in wrestling magazines that I knew about what they were doing in WCCW.

As bad and shallow as this may be, I don't like their faces. Lol, silly I know

The Shield was only a trio until they could figure out storylines for them as individuals. They were always going to be three separate guys who happened to wrestle together on the same team.
Greatest of all time? The Freebirds, hands down.

For those who picked The Shield over all.... The Shield were together from November 2012 until May 2014. Yes, they held the Tag Titles (once) and the US Title (once) but by no means did they have the amount of success together as the Freebirds (multi time NWA/WCW Tag Champions, US Tag Champions, US Champion, Six Man Tag Champions), The Russians (NWA Tag Champions, US Champion, Mid Atlantic Champion), The Varsity Club (NWA Tag Champions, US Tag Champions, TV Champion), among all the other teams that were around all through the 80s and 90s. It just goes to show, that I think most fans can not go back and watch old wrestling and appreciate it. There is an entire era in the 80s and early 90s that goes unnoticed for some reason, and I just can't quite understand why.

It's a tie between The Shield for pure enjoyment and Misawa, Kawada and Kobashi for star power for me.
The Shield probably edges out.

not that they'd be at the top by any means, but no mention of the Hillbilly's, The Funk bros, or the Machines!
