Not sure if you guys caught the Premiere Boxing Champions event on CBS this weekend, but it was a much anticipated fight, called by none other than Mauro Ranallo. He brought so much excitement to the match in my opinion.
Which leads me to my question..
Do you believe he is signed to a certain contract that allows him to be a part of things like this? And also, with how much excitement and realism he provides, what are your thoughts on his commentary?

He's by far one of the best announcers the company has but I fear Vince will ruin him when Smackdown goes live.

He's probably the only male voice I pay attention to or don't mute when watching WWE programming.

Since he was allowed to host an MMA show for AXS TV, i think he is allowed to do other projects as long as it doesn't interfere with WWE.

He's called all sorts of fight events, he's probably more used to doing these.

Him and Corey Graves would be gold on Smackdown. Leave the other three (who I can't stand) on Raw.

Mauro is AMAZING at everything he does.
His voice is honestly captivating.

I think I may be the only one who finds him annoying on here.
I liked Mauro on "Right After Wrestling" when he would talk about Raw with Renee Young and Kyle Edwards back when they were all in Canada working for The Score TV station. He was opinionated and honest and really said what the wrestling fan was feeling at the time.
Now I find him to be just annoying. Yelling non-stop, almost like he is trying to be Jim Ross but without the passion. Yelling isn't passion. It's just yelling. I rather hear just Michael Cole and Byron Saxton together for commentary.

Mauro and Graves is the dream for me. The first commentary tandem in like a decade that I foresee being any good. Everyone else  ing sucks. I don't care if it's Vince in their ear or what but JBL, Cole, King, Saxton, all suck. Your job is to sell the story in the ring and none of them do it besides Mauro. It's quite easy to tell the difference when you watch Raw and then turn around and watch Smackdown. I grew up listening to Cubs games on the radio as a kid and that audio stimulation has always been important to me in sports. I feel fortunate to have gotten guys like Heenan, Gorilla, JR, Schiavone, 90s King, and Heyman over the years, but I've been missing that for years. I honestly feel like I get that spark again when I watch Smackdown now. |

His voice is irritating as hell. I don't even feel like I'm watching WWE anymore when I hear his big stupid voice.

As a boxing fan, Mauro is better than some but certainly not the best. He does alright and makes you invested in the match with his excitement. I know lots of the issues with his boxing calls comes more from agendas of that crooked ass sport than anything. But he has been doing fights for Showtime for a few years now and is much better than cockboy Gus who he replaced and does sports commentary for fox college football and I think has done a few of the PBC cards on Fox.
Anyhow, I like Mauro on wwe. Would like Cole to piss off and Mauro to take his place.

Mauro is hands down much better than Cole. Every time I hear his voice though I think of MMA because of countless fights that he was the announcer for. I guess that's not a bad thing though.

Hes the best commentator in the biz. And WWE is dropping the ball again with this boxing and UFC. One of the things people remember most about the Attitude Era is the Tyson cross over. I dont even watch boxing and heard about this fight as it was trending on twitter. WWE should be all over promoting their guys on other sports. Promotion for Brock at UFC 200 should be huge. Promote it to where 2 million buy that UFC PPV, and if a few thousand of those come back and order Summer Slam its a success. But no mention at all. And now with Mauro, he shouldve been on Raw from the start. It wont be as bad with the split coming up and making SD! equal,but thebfact that they snagged the best commentator in the market and put him on the B show is embarassing

Like any commentator, he says some dumb things sometimes but in the few times I've watched Smackdown with him, I've enjoyed him more than most of the alternatives.

I like how he calls matches.
I don't like his low amount of emotion while calling matches.
I like that he seems very intelligent towards the industry.
I don't like how fake is voice sounds. Almost like he's using a "professional phone" voice.
I think he's the best they've git, but would love for him to work on those few things.
