I am not sure if this has been address anywhere else. I have not read the Raw thread, maybe something in the works for the brand split?
Has anyone noticed on Raw tonight that they dropped the word "Heavyweight" from the championship. Not the physical title but when speaking about it, and the graphics when Ambrose came out. They referred to him as the WWE Champion in the graphic. Cole referred to him as the WWE Champion. No mention of the word "Heavyweight"
What are everyone's thoughts?

Didn't they do the same when DB was the champ?

Mentioned this in the Raw thread. Definitely a sign we're getting either the big gold back or a new secondary title

Stupid stupid stupid.
Should stay the way it was when the brand split first started...one undisputed champ who's a workhorse and does both shows.

Yup...one of the very first things i noticed tonight. Dropping both "world" and "heavyweight" from the title is surely by design. Even if Ambrose doesn't look "heavyweight" enough, they still referred to Daniel Bryan as WWE "World " champion during his run. Same for Mysterio during his run with the actual WHC. I'm guessing its brand split related, and our official new world title will be the product of controversy concerning the triple threat. Just a guess there. As for what the title will be, i have a feeling it wont be Big Gold. Probably that updated winged eagle belt that pics leaked of some months ago.

WWE finally solved their title situation, and now they're gonna with it again. Great.

Couldn't help but too notice it.
I think a second World Title is eminent.

So they unify the title belts at TLC 2013, only to once again split them up. It's almost like WWE has no clue as to what they are doing anymore.
Also, I still wonder why they released wrestlers a few months ago like Damien Sandow when they were going to be doing a draft and having brands. They are supposedly hurting enough for talent to contact the mid-card guys from the Ruthless Aggression era to come back, yet they let guys go from this era?? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I agree with the Sandow sentiment. I don't mind them bringing back previous stars to fill the voids, but they surely could have kept Sandow for some of that. He probably still wouldn't have been used in any kind of capacity that he should've been.......but there was no reason to cost him a paycheck.

It definitely has to be leading to the World Championship coming back, but I don't understand why they couldn't have at least acknowledged the name change. Did they think the fans just wouldn't notice? Also, if they do bring back the World Title, they're going to have to edit the WWE Title since it says "World Heavyweight Champion" on it.

At least this title unification lasted a lot longer than the first one.

I am happy that we are getting another World Title.
Hopefully the old big gold comes back (but without that horrid red backing...).

Probably just making way so Smackdown's title can be the World Heavyweight Championship.

Ugh, two titles again, so two people can be less important champions

Noticed that immediately. Love it. Bring back the WHC.

Yeah, I want just one WWE/World champion. Let the champion bounce between two shows. IMO it'll make the title feel more prestigious that way.

I'm in the "one World Champion" camp, but from WWE's perspective, it's way more difficult to write stories for one guy bouncing back-and-fourth than it is to just have two separate titles that operate within their own identifiable shows.
I think this was inevitable. Glad Rollins got to be the man when there was only one title. Makes it more special imo. However, when AJ Styles wins the Smackdown World Title, it's not going to feel any less satisfying for me.
